... more like drunken profiling....

Why is it - do you think - that every time there is a move to reinforce law and order - there is always a cry that it will be against Abos?

Could it be because they are the main offenders?

Why not just stop offending?  Easy as pie!!

Drunkenness is low vibration energy
It's an attempt to numb the pain of existence
So are drugs , pot, eating junk, porn, pokies , and doom scrolling on the net.

Only if people can re engage with joy and creativity can they get out of the hell realms.

Being told you are a victim and having cash thrown at you has zero chance of success.

Being shown a better way is the only hope.

Unfortunately most people are Brian's  who post online.

The chances a person suffering from addiction and pain is going to be transformed by an online post is zero.

Tony Abbott going to communities and building halls and playing footy and smiling and laughing with the people may bring joy and creativity.

Hence he is an agent of good
Brian is not

All the ho-ha from the Civil Liberties Council bloke Cope about putting civil rights back 34 years is bullshyte.

Public drunkenness was only decriminalised less than a year ago ...... what took lefty LABOR so long to act on it?

Afterall they've been in control of the state for 28 of the last 32 years.

And it seems to me that the Aboriginal activists carrying on about it being used by Police to racially profile Aboriginals is an admission by them that Aboriginals are more prone to public drunkenness & nuisance.

They're racially profiling/stereo typing themselves.

When I was young there were plenty of blokes(white) who spent a night in the watch house for being drunk/drinking/nuisance in a public place ....

you got a cell for the night & when you'd sobered up - it would cost you $2 bail in the morning & you'd be released.

If you had done nothing else but be drunk that was the end of it. No court, no conviction.

These clowns protesteth too much & are admitting that their mob have made no progress in 34 years.

It can be, especially if you are about to run out.

I have been drunk in public on a few occasions....The issue should be how someone is behaving in public not that they are drunk....Anyone could be arrested for being drunk in public whilst doing nothing wrong under these vague sweeping laws....Drinking is now a crime in Queensland....The Gold Coast had better build some more jails!!!

Just being drunk in public won't attract police attention. Being drunk and disorderly will.
If Aboriginals are disproportionately affected by this, they may want to address the root cause and not the law.

I think it's more about being drunk and poor. In particular, homeless. You can get as drunk as you want in your front yard, but if you are sitting on the footpath with a flagon they want to be able to get rid of you.
