Greens Senator Sarah Hanson-Young says the prime minister Anthony Albanese must seek an urgent explanation from the Trump Administration.

This comes after an Australian journalist was hit with a rubber bullet when she was reporting  in Los Angeles.

In a statement, Senator Hanson-Young condemned the incident:

"US authorities shooting an Australian journalist is simply shocking.

"It is completely unacceptable and must be called out.

"The Prime Minister must seek an urgent explanation from the US administration. As Albanese is preparing for his first meeting with President Trump, the first thing he must tell the President is to stop shooting at our journalists.

"Freedom of the press is a fundamental pillar of a strong, functioning democracy.

The PM is expected to meet US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the G7 in Canada next week.

The LA cops are as bad as Daniel Andrews cops during the Covid crisis -

she was talking to a TV camera.

We have cops like that in Melbourne -

You seem to be confusing WWF with Greens.

Greens Senator defending an Australian reporter working, is within their representation of 12% of the voting public.

Meanwhile we see Nationals' Matt Caravan, dragging his feet in defending the Australian reporter :

"It looks like there was a targeting there," but was reluctant to jump to conclusions.

"What it should be is a detailed investigation of all these matters," he told the ABC.
