It's all about getting ripped off -

when you buy apples in April you expect this season's apples -
fresh and crispy -
not one year old apples kept in a Nitrogen gas cold room that are soft and flowery.
They should have to display the "picked" date.

Told you supermarket food is rubbish food.

There will be a farmers market not too far from you. Look it up, visit. Fresh fruit & veg, jams and pickles, breads and biscuits.

I am determined to find a place with fresh fruit and veges - and I will.

Tasmania has the best apples in Australia - you are lucky.

I'm just an uneducated, unskilled, unqualified homeless mental retard from too many blows to the head, unemployable Dole bludging, Aboriginal benefit bludging loser who got a stint in the music video 'Smells like teen spirit' with my mop and bucket. No-one wants me to sleep on their couch and I sleep in the bush, which is where I am now. Woe woe woe, what am I good for?😢

You're right John. I'm living a lie and I should end this. Today I will hang myself.

I went to two more fruit and vege shops today.
Same thing in both places -
the apples looked like the ones at Coles and they had no apple smell.
I didn't buy any.

Vic is cold enough in the south to grow OK apples, you are just looking in the wrong places.

It's not easy you fool -

it looks to me like most shops are getting their apples from Nitrogen filled cool rooms.

The apples are up to one year old.  Roll Eyes

Ever eaten ripe apples straight from a tree?

They are really hard -
sometimes you have to wait a week for them to ripen a bit more in the fruit bowl
before you eat them.

The ones in the shop -  yuck - soft flowery old rubbish.

I don't have to wait a week when I pick my apples, straight from the tree crispy, sweet and juicy. I don't even spray them but do lose some to the possum.

Yup, one of my ex GFs was the daughter of a VERY large apple/pear orchard owner.
Had we married, I would be living/managing the orchard today  Grin Grin Grin
