No.
I'm just stating the facts.
The Republican gun owner hiding in the bushes never fired a shot, and he's only been charged with firearm offences.
He might have been plotting to kill the rapist, but he didn't get as far as attempting it.
It's treason
I'd be careful bringing up "treason". If you look at the definition, it applies in many instances to Trump when he has sided with other countries and their world leaders over the US.
This is the man you fantasise over...

they're gunna hang em from the highest yardarm in New York harbor.
You believe it to be treason only because you've been conditioned to equate patriotism with unquestioning loyalty to Trump, rather than to the United States itself.
Attempting to assassinate the President of the United States, while an exceptionally serious federal crime as it should be, is not legally classified as treason under U.S. law.
Treason, as specifically defined in the U.S. Constitution (Article III, Section 3), is limited to "levying war against [the United States], or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort."
Thus, treason generally pertains to actions that directly support foreign adversaries of the nation, particularly in times of war.
The only legal technicality shielding Trump is that his actions, which have arguably benefited the U.S.’s foreign enemies, did not occur in the context of war.
