Georgia Governor - Asshole?
Sep 5th, 2024 at 10:20am

Republican Governor Brian Kemp

In 2022, Kemp signed a bill into law that expanded gun rights, allowing Georgians to carry handguns in public without a license or background check. A “lawful weapons carrier,” or any person who is eligible to purchase a firearm, can now concealed-carry a handgun. Long guns could already be carried in many places without a permit.

The governor has previously flagrantly defended his anti–gun control agenda to skeptics. After Georgia’s public media station in 2021 reported that the Giffords Law Center gave Georgia a failing grade on gun control, even before Kemp’s expansion of gun access, Kemp proudly delcared, “I’ll wear this ‘F’ as a badge of honor.”

When he campaigned for governor of Georgia, Kemp ran on expanding access to firearms. This included a nearly unbelievable ad where the then secretary of state sat with a shotgun in his lap, surrounded by even more guns, while speaking to a young boy about dating one of his daughters.

Nek minnit!

At least 4 killed in Georgia high school shooting

Two students and two teachers were killed in a mass shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, according to Georgia Bureau of Investigation Director Chris Hosey. Nine people were hospitalized, the bureau said.

The only assholes there are the ones that honestly believe 'Gun Control' is the answer to keep criminals from using firearms to commit murder.

The 14 year old child shooter
disobeyed all the Gun Control Laws on the Georgia books
that should have kept him from committing this heinous crime.

The
'Georgia Permitless Carry Law'
signed into law in 2022 mentioned above had nothing to do with any firearm used by the
14 year old boy
who murdered these unfortunate four ....This 14 year old youngster had absolutely no Right to be in possession of, or to uses any firearm, in any State regardless of any Permitless/Constitutional Carry Laws.

There presently are 29 States, of all the 50 United States of America today that have & honor a persons Right to Carry a loaded firearm without first getting a government or law enforcement issued permit.

There are about 6 more States that in the process of passing similar legislation which would enable them to join the other 29 States that already have Laws to give their Citizens the Right to Permitless/Constitutional Carry.

“The father stated he had hunting guns in the house, but the subject did not have unsupervised access to them,” the statement read."
He said the Governor told him to buy the hardware and grizzly bears had planned school invasions.  Chinese gangs probably owned the ammo industry and gays made his son go queer.

The Second Amendment of the United States Constitution affirms, defends, & protects a Law-Abiding American Citizen's Right to Keep & Bear Arms to use in Self-Defense.....of himself/herself, their loved ones, & friends.

* In America Murder is already illegal --  against the law.

* Attempting to murder is also already illegal.

* A criminal felon owning, attempting to purchase, or in any way possessing a firearm, is already illegal.

* It is already illegal for a person with a diagnosed violent form of mental illness to possess, attempt to purchase, or in any way own a firearm.

* Shooting & killing people indiscriminately is already illegal.

* Using firearms in any criminal manner is already illegal.

Obama had the perfect answer as to why "good" gun owners should face restrictions on gun ownership.

I think the statistic is that if you have a gun in your household -

19 times out 20 - the gun will cause the death or injury of someone in your
home including yourself rather than be used to stop a burglar or a home invasion.
It happens from:
accidents, heat of the moment arguments, anger,
mental disorders, drug and alcohol abuse, suicide.

So it's less safe to have a gun in your house - than to have nothing.
Guns cause carnage.

Still, there remains absolutely no reason whatsoever for good law-abiding American gun owners.....the American People......to even consider relinquishing any of their Constitutional Rights to Keep & Bear Arms.....arms that are specifically intended to be used for all lawful purposes...especially for self-defense...inside or outside the home....to defend & protect themselves, their loved ones, their friends, & their property....

PS....Bobby, seriously.....do the math.....if that 19 out of 20 "statistic" were anywhere even close to being true, or anything more than a simpleminded joke, far, far more than 45,000 people in the USA would die every year via gunfire....accidentally or not.

Correct.

However, Republicans and the NRA continually lie to the American people and tell them that guns make them safer - they don't.

The GOP & NRA are full of
s
hit, and they don't care how many little kids die from gunshot wounds.

So far this year, 975 children have been killed by guns in the US.

975.

Nine hundred and seventy five.

...

I used Google and I can't find the actual quote even though I am 100% certain that I read it many times before -

but I did find this:

https://www.safewise.com/resources/guns-at-home/

https://www.americanprogress.org/article/debunking-the-guns-make-us-safer-myth/

https://academic.oup.com/aje/article/160/10/929/140858

https://www.everytown.org/solutions/educate-gun-owners/

Gun owners and those contemplating buying guns should learn about the risks associated with guns, including that the presence of a gun in the home significantly increases the risk of suicide, homicide, death during domestic violence disputes, and unintentional deaths to children and household members. Gun owners should also be educated on relevant secure storage laws and best practices for storing a gun securely.
