You are just demonstrating yet again that you don't know what you are talking about. The dog dried to bite Kristi when she tried to stop it killing chickens.

If that dog had gone on to Maul a child, you would be calling for the owner to be jailed.

So the dog didn't bite anyone, only a chicken. And that was only because she hadn't secured it properly in the first place.  You have no idea how dogs work do you fd? Have you ever even owned a dog?

A farm dog that has to be secured to stop it going on a killing spree, and tries to bite its owner, is a dangerous animal. I have seen dogs interact with chickens and other livestock all my life and have never seen one behave like that. No farmer would feel obliged to keep it alive and chained up. Any farmer with half a brain would do what she did.

This is exactly the sort of lack of common sense that the Trump political machine is hoping to provoke from the useful idiots.

All dogs have to be secured you dumbarse. Cheesy Cheesy

What do you mean John? Or are you just dribbling nonsense again?

I thought it was a pretty easy statement to follow. What part of 'all dogs are required to be secured' are you struggling with fd?

The secured part. I have never had a dog that couldn't get out if it wanted to. How would you secure a farm dog?

Then you shouldn't be allowed to own dogs.  I've never had a dog that could roam the neighbourhood whenever it wanted to. They were always secured in a yard.

As in, not physically capable of escaping?

How do you do that with a farm dog?

A PUPPY that isn;t trained properly exhibits all sorts of behaviours that are unbecoming to a seasoned dog.

This is what training is for.

And if you're stupid enough to take an untrained puppy you've recently been made aware was not behaving as you would want unrestrained into a farm full of chickens, then you're a colossal idiot.

And then, going on to brag about it?

Sure. Vote for that one.

All ethics aside, the woman is  moron.

Imagine being upset by someone shooting a puppy in the head for pissing them off.

It's woke gone mad!

On a neighbors property with chickens roaming? With an untrained puppy?

I dunno, a leash?

I don't think I have ever come across a dog with any kind of training. I know I have never seen a dog go on a killing spree like this one. Any half decent dog should be perfectly safe with the chickens.

This is the sort of detachment from reality that Trump is hoping to take advantage of.

Most councils actual require dangerous dogs to be put down. Our society kills dogs and cats on an industrial scale in a far less humane way, mostly for no good reason other than convenience. The hypocrisy here is mind boggling.

What a load of horseshit. Puppies do all sorts of poo. That;s why they're supposed to be on leads. You don't let an untrained dog loose around livestock. Everyone who knows anything about dogs knows this.

As for the Trump nonsense, you've just evidenced that that only appeals to morons.

Dangerous dog my arse. Exuberant puppy. That is all.

The only person who has said that the dog was dangerous was the woman who dragged it into a gravel pit and shot it in the face with a shotgun.

Not a single person has corroborated her story.

Perhaps you’re thinking, Come on — it can’t be that bad! I assure you it is.

I bet the dog was old. It was a 14-month-old puppy.

Well, the dog was probably sick. She was healthy and “having the time of her life.”

The dog must have mauled a kid or something. She just killed some chickens, after being trained to hunt birds.

Surely Noem found a humane way to put the dog down. She took the dog to a gravel pit and fatally shot it.

Okay, but at least Noem loved her dog? “I hated that dog,” Noem writes.

She includes her story about the ill-fated Cricket, she says, to illustrate her willingness, in politics as well as in South Dakota life, to do anything “difficult, messy and ugly” if it simply needs to be done.

By taking Cricket on a pheasant hunt with older dogs, Noem says, she hoped to calm the young dog down and begin to teach her how to behave. Unfortunately, Cricket ruined the hunt, going “out of her mind with excitement, chasing all those birds and having the time of her life”.

Noem describes calling Cricket, then using an electronic collar to attempt to bring her under control. Nothing worked. Then, on the way home after the hunt, as Noem stopped to talk to a local family, Cricket escaped Noem’s truck and attacked the family’s chickens, “grabb[ing] one chicken at a time, crunching it to death with one bite, then dropping it to attack another”.

Cricket the untrainable dog, Noem writes, behaved like “a trained assassin”.

When Noem finally grabbed Cricket, she says, the dog “whipped around to bite me”. Then, as the chickens’ owner wept, Noem repeatedly apologised, wrote the shocked family a check “for the price they asked, and helped them dispose of the carcasses littering the scene of the crime”.

Through it all, Noem says, Cricket was “the picture of pure joy”.

“I hated that dog,” Noem writes, adding that Cricket had proved herself “untrainable”, “dangerous to anyone she came in contact with” and “less than worthless … as a hunting dog”.

“At that moment,” Noem says, “I realised I had to put her down.”

Noem, who also represented her state in Congress for eight years, got her gun, then led Cricket to a gravel pit.

“It was not a pleasant job,” she writes, “but it had to be done. And after it was over, I realised another unpleasant job needed to be done.”
https://www.theguardian.com/books/2024/apr/26/trump-kristi-noem-shot-dog-and-goa...

Mebbe she shoulda waited until the mutt started biting kiddies and call a team of social workers at that point and also ask the elders of the dog community to teach Cricket the lore of her ancestors.
Or somefin'.

An untrained puppy should never be off a leash around chickens.

Why is this in question?
