I am practically a vegetarian because of cost.

Bit of pancetta gives nice meaty flavor.

Once I have my kitchen set up might cook a bit more meat—a beef rendang be good. Once the house is painted etc will do some fishing and get some chooks for eggs etc.

There are also bulk or wholesale butchers—buy a half or quarter cow for big savings over Coles etc.

Or look for cheaper cuts, cook them a bit longer, tastier than steak!
