Look Brian,
even when I voted on Saturday -
I didn't see one person with a how to vote Labor card.
On TV -
at one booth someone handing out such pro Dan literature was beaten up.
Same here in South Gippsland. Which is simply because Labor knew
in advance that they couldn't knock off our Nationals candidate. Why
waste their volunteer's time, and printing and paper costs?
The other thing of course is that the average Labor voter is far more
politically literate than the average Liberal voter, so they simply don't
need a juvenile set of "how to" instructions. Exactly.
I've been saying that for years.
I've told this story many times before, but I'm gonna tell it again.
Many years ago (1998?), when lining up at a Perth suburban school to vote in the general election, the family in front of me were looking at their
idiot cards how-to-vote cards and the parents were telling their 18 year old daughter that she needed to vote for John Howard.
She showed them the
idiot card how-to-vote-card and explained that his name wasn't on there.
Both parents looked confused, and somewhat concerned.
The father said to the mother
"We must have picked up the wrong idiot card how-to-vote cards - can you run back to the school entrance and see if you can find the one for John Howard?".To reiterate, this was in a
Perth electorate (not Bennelong, NSW).
What a terrible way to introduce their daughter to voting.
I've always felt sorry for her.
Some people shouldn't be allowed to vote.
