Yes, and if they have the wisdom to settle the border dispute via negotiation (amongst the fist fights on the boder), the Asian century will indeed become a reality.

India has just overtaken the UK as the world's 5th largest economy.

They don't have the wisdom.

Neither of them are universalist humanist cultures.

Russia has offered the Election Machine Gun Brigade to conduct voting in Ladakh and West Tibet. China will get the Himalayas and India gets 20,000 tons scrap armour plate, slightly rusted and 1,500 tons of rubles.

Or cadaverist. Either/or, no?

The old boy's a liberal, you see.

Sorry, dear boy. illiberal. We always get those two mixed up, don't we now?

Ukrainians told to be ready to fight for Russia.

Showing his rat cunning, Putin will conscript 200,000 Ukrainians to fight Ukraine. 'They all voted as planned and this will swing the Kyiv vote for surrender'. The Russian generals support this policy and don't expect to be blamed by Putin.

China is  with its philosophy of 'benevolent authority' as opposed to the pernicious outcomes achieved by blind 'invisible hand' markets in adversarial democracies; and China is urging Asian solidarity as India has recently overtaken the UK as the world's 5th largest economy.

I was looking for this topic earlier ...

Forget ordering mobilisation! Putin may well be ordering nuclear war!

"Polish Foreign Minister Rau said that European countries positioned in Russia’s geographic shadow have no choice but to take Putin’s nuclear threats seriously. He said Putin’s potential use of nuclear weapons to avoid defeat stands in stark contrast to the U.S. dropping atomic bombs on Japan to hasten an already determined victory.

“If Putin is threatening to use his nuclear tactical nuclear weapons, we have to realize that this event would be a completely different situation, because it would be the use of nuclear weapons by the side which is rather losing rather than winning the war .."

If Putin's got any sense, JaSin, he'll execute those foreign soldiers as mercenaries.

Gotta love it. Putin's using troops from any old country he can find, but if anyone joins in to help the other side, it's so unfair.

So savvy.

So here’s a guy that says, you know, ‘I’m gonna declare a big portion of Ukraine independent’ – he used the word ‘independent’ – ‘and we’re gonna go out and we’re gonna go in and we’re gonna help keep peace.’ You gotta say that’s pretty savvy. I know him very well - very, very well.

You?

Oh, I think you'll find the old boy has no love for the invisible hand either, Great. Benevolent authority?

Hardly. Malevolent authority.

As you can see, you have a fair bit in common, just different means to an end.

He wasn't rich before he became the Russian emperor, dear.

He wasn't insane either. Tsar Nicholas, Stalin, Yeltsen, they all go crazy in the end.

You?

The invisible hand is the basis of the 'personal responsibility' neoliberal economy.

Quote:
Benevolent authority?

Hardly. Malevolent authority.

The goal of the general welfare aka common propserity  is  NOT malevolent.

Quote:
As you can see, you have a fair bit in common, just different means to an end.

Refuted above, I'm for the general welfare which must be planned and guided by  benevolent authority, he's for individual  freedom with economic outcomes determined by 'personal responsibility' alone in  greed-based  neoliberal 'invisible hand' markets.

You need to consider Cicero's maxim:

All must submit to rule of law, for all to be free.

better law under 'benevolent authority' than individual greed.
