Mr Hastie used social media to warn that the future of his party could be at risk if it didn’t take action to reduce immigration.

In an Instagram post on Wednesday afternoon, Mr Hastie said many young Australians had lost hope of owning a home because of what he said was an explosion in net overseas migration to Australia. “In the last two years, we’ve added nearly a million extra people to our population. Australians are feeling the impact of Labor’s immigration policy,” he said.

There is no point having a Uniparty system Labor Lite is oblivion for any party - see the pattern in the UK, Germany, France.

A recent national survey revealed most Australians now want a temporary freeze on arrivals until the country’s stretched infrastructure can catch up to demand.

The poll found 71 per cent of respondents support a pause on migration until more schools, hospitals, roads and homes are built - a significant jump from 60 per cent last year.

The results come amid fresh data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics, which confirmed that net permanent and long-term arrivals hit 379,870 between January and August this year - up six per cent on 2024’s record.

...

Mr Howard said he had “never met a multicultural person” and insisted he had only met “bi-cultural people”, and that assimilation was essential for a united nation.

“We made a terrible mistake, I think, in getting rid of the sensible understanding of the word ‘assimilation,’” he said.

“Now, to assimilate doesn't mean you forget your mother culture … I've never met a multicultural person. I've met plenty of bicultural people.”

Protests today:

A NATION WITHOUT HOUSING
What do you think adding 7 million people to Australia’s population in 20 years does? Our housing shortfall is not a
supply issue — it’s a mass migration issue. We will never meet demand, when demand is infinite.

Two police officers hospitalised in Melbourne after clashing with opposing protesters

By Patrick Brischetto

4:04pm Oct 19, 2025

Hundreds involved in a 'March for Australia' anti mass-immigration rally were met with police and counter-protesters, with police forced to create a barricade between the two groups on Bourke St.
In a statement released on Sunday afternoon, police said projectiles were thrown.

"The police officers were pelted with rocks, glass bottles and fruit whilst trying to protect protestors and the broader community in the vicinity," they said.
They said one female sergeant was hospitalised with a suspected broken hand, whilst a male constable sustained a laceration to the lower leg; neither officer is in a life-threatening condition.
One person was arrested, and police say they are searching for more offenders.
"We make no apologies for officers having to use force to separate and safely disperse crowds during protests where police have been presented with an extremely volatile and violent environment," Victoria Police Commander of the North West Metro region Wayne Cheeseman said.
"Police do not attend protests with the aim of using force, but it is always in response to the actions of protestors whether it be violence between different groups, or towards officers," Cheeseman claimed.

Flash bangs used by the police
against some protesters were heard, with witnesses claiming riot police worked to push back the pro-immigration protests and disperse the crowd.
The March for Australia protesters eventually walked away from the counter-protesters after 1pm and marched along Spring St.
In Sydney, police estimated around 5000 people gathered in the CBD for an anti-immigration protest, but a counter-protest of a similar size was also mounted.
There were no reports of injuries, clashes or arrests in Sydney, with other protests and counter-protests popping up all over the country on Sunday.
Thousands gathered for an anti-immigration protest in Brisbane, with politician Bob Katter seen amongst the crowd

Tensions have boiled over as anti-immigration and counter protesters took to the streets of Melbourne and other capital cities for the second time in as many months, with two Victoria Police officers hospitalised following the protests.

Hundreds of police officers, a group composed of both those in riot gear and mounted police, separated a March for Australia group estimated to be in the thousands, and a group of anti-racism protesters in Melbourne's centre.

Here is a statement by a senior VICPOL officer describing the behaviour of the racist leftist vermin in Melbourne today. I note that the channel 7 news tonight did not show the full interview and gave the impression that the March for Australia people were involved. How typical of the MSM Roll Eyes

The usual suspects have been very quiet about this.....Obviously they cannot deny an obvious truth and have no excuses to make, thus they are all concentrating on some protest in the US rather than facing reality at home.  Grin

We need to stop bringing in 3rd world no hopers.

Unless people are highly skilled and can speak English -
they need to be kept out.

We need:
electricians,
plumbers,
house builders,
engineers,
scientists,
medical people etc.

It makes sense that if you import people who can't speak English and who
have no qualifications - they will resort to crime to survive.
They are not going to lie down in a gutter and die -
they'll do anything to survive in our concrete jungles called cities.
If that means carving victims up with machetes to get money - they'll do it.

Something has gone terribly wrong in this country’s performance in fighting crime and protecting freedom of religion.

This week’s rule of law index published by the World Justice Project has revealed a clear decline in Australia’s global ranking on these measures. In 2015, this country ranked fifth in the world when judged on freedom of religion and belief, and 17th when judged by whether crime was effectively controlled.

After two years of intimidation and violence against Jews, and a sharp surge in crime in Victoria, the entire country’s ranking on these measures has collapsed. We now rank 24th on freedom of religion (down from fifth 10 years ago) and 35th on controlling crime (down from 17th 10 years ago).
...

Australians are losing our freedom to practice religion without risking violence or intimidation.

On this measure, as well as crime, we are no longer the country we were 10 years ago. Crime and religious discrimination have transformed Australia.

Consider the facts unveiled on Thursday by the Australian Retailers Association. The retailers made the point that Victoria accounts for 35 per cent of total retail crime across the nation. This state has 60 per cent more of this type of crime than any other jurisdiction.

The statistics tell the story: Victoria police recorded 82,152 incidents of retail crime last year – an increase of 27.6 per cent.

But in the 12 months to June this year, another 99,114 offences took place – which means this form of crime in Victoria grew by another 20 per cent on top of the previous year’s 27.6 per cent.
