The extreme behaviour of so much of the extremist right is 100,000 times the threat of the non existent pretend threat of cultural marxism.

Even the hand full of general marxists around likely tend to be a more positive influence than any danger.

What for?

FD's "little pinks" thread is based on his erroneous narrative that "Mao starved 50 million people to death while trying to feed them all equally."

I pointed out Mao was actually intent on collectivizing agriculture, which he thought was in accord with Marxist priciples - but Marx said nothing about collectivizing agriculture, Marx was concerned with achieving fair wages  for factory workers in an industrial  economy, not farmers - "workers of the world, unite!".

Stop ranting about what happened in the USSR, in a vain attempt  to support your nonsense re "cultural Marxism".

Marx was concerned with ethical allocation of resources, whereas you, like Frank, want to blame the failure of free-market capitalism to engender common  prosperity,  on Marx by ranting about  "cultural Marxism" - which has nothing to do with Marx in any case.

What happened in every country of the USSR is important to know about
what communism was actually like.
Everyone hated it except the top party officials -
They couldn't wait to join the West.

Yes, but Marx didn't control the 'communist'  revolution in Russia and the USSR.

More proof here:

With the US-China trade tensions at an all-time high, a range of sharp memes mocking Americans is flooding social media. Besides the public, Chinese government officials have also jumped onto the bandwagon, sharing memes to troll the US government. From taking digs at President Donald Trump to creating AI-generated images of Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Vice President JD Vance, the memes have been circulating widely across Chinese and US social media.

So?

Tarrifs do inhibit economic growth in all trading nations affected by the tariffs, and China IS very concerned because the CCP relies on economic growth to maintain its 'social license' to rule.

The problem is the WTO free trade rules,  which benefitted China while it was a low wage economy, didn't ensure everyone would prosper which is what Trump - surveying the ruins of Detroit and Pittsburg - is complaining about today.

It's doubtful whether Trump's tarrifs  will improve workers' wages (as opposed to billionaires' incomes) in the US, we won't have to wait long to find out.

But the rest of the world is also on tenterhooks; and Canadians are voting today "to keep Trump out", and to block purchase of US goods,  rather than voting to elect a progressive or conservative Canadian leader - either  of whom will be useless in any case because the mainstrean neoclassical economic orthodoxy ruling the world is the real problem for everyone.

This thread is Booby trying to distract attention from himself, typical cultural marxist tactic. “Shoot him not me!”

As an item on the intellectual agenda, Marxism is scarcely even a joke. … Marxism is a fearful social—and police—problem, but so is the drug trade. It is a fearsome political problem, but so is Islamic fundamentalism. But an intellectual problem Marxism is not, any more than the drug trade or Islamic fundamentalism.

Marx himself, unlike his millions of devotees, knew perfectly well what his rubbishy improvisations about "dialectic" etc. are worth. In 1857 he had made certain statements in print about the course of the Indian Mutiny, then going on, and he writes to Engels about these as follows: "It's possible that I shall make an ass of myself. But in that case one can always get out of it with a little dialectic. I have, of course, so worded my proposition as to be right either way." This quotation is from p. 152, Vol. 40 (!), of the Collected Works, (Lawrence and Wishart). It should be pasted over every door in every Arts faculty in the Western World. (Except that it is, alas, a little late for that.)

It makes sense since in practice, "cultural marxism" is mostly a buzzword used by people who can't argue in good faith against changes they find uncomfortable.

So of course, you've used it a lot, Bobby, and it's also no surprise that it has attracted such a big cast of the usual suspects to happy clap along.
