2 other good name brands are Irwin, Spear and Jackson.
Not as well known as Stanley or Estwing.
They are more gardening/handtools than high tech stuff.

Nice tools, good steel, good balance, good feel.
Good steel is critical

I use a balancer guide to sharpen my lathe blades against stone wheels. Come off super sharp without having to tediously slowly use a manual stone.
Works for my chisels as well.
No complaints and I get a very fine edge.

I need some gardening hand tools.

What Bunnings has will not be good steel I imagine.

Great idea, gives that curve to chisels too
Sharp tools make all the difference.
I once had a big digging job to do, so sharpened the spade before I begun

yes, if you like better tools places other than bunnings might suit you.

I had a 'Spear and Jackson' something (Can't remember what it was) but it was good.
Bought a Spear and Jackson hand plane yesterday

Ended up with Fiscars hand tools for gardening—want to get the trees in the tree bags to full heath: weed, loosen top layer of soil, add some blood and bone, cover with compost, water in with water with seasol seaweed extract in it.

Fiskars are good. I have some of their secateurs. Well done.
Pony Jorgensen are pretty good too

Vacuum cleaners for gutters.

Any suggestions? I don't want to hose all the gunk down the pipes in case they get clogged. Vacuuming when it's all dry and dusty seems a better way.
Have you done this?

It holds your chisel (and Lathe chisels) up to the stone wheels to be sharpened and allows for 'curvature' in the case of the rounded lathe chisels.
I'll see if I can post a picture of mine soon (not tonight) to give you a better idea.

Most of my newer Lathe instruments have rotating head blades and can come off and just put flat on a stone to sharpen real easy without worrying about 'angles'.

I've just forked out thousands for a new Table Saw.
I'm a bit worried about the Tungsten qualities on Circular Blades these days. They just don't seem to last as long or seem as hardy as of just 5 years ago.
My bet is that 'Made in China' curse has compromised the quality of metal coming into Australia.

I have to do gutters often as I'm lucky to be surrounded by the love of nature's shade. A Blower is better than a Vaccuum as the sticks basically stuff the bags when they come into them. Just put a sandbag in the top of downpipe and blow away. You can also gurney the extra gunk out with the downpipe blocked, just in case.

I have the Sandbags hanging close by to the down pipes, where - if fear of fire. I can block the downpipes and fill the gutters up with water via hose connections hanging from the gutters as well. It's a very quick process of filling up all the gutters.
That's the contingency if my hose to the top of the house and 5-star spread Sprinkler system fails.
Don't waste your time with a pissy garden sprinkler.
Buy a strong powerful sprinkler system with different lengths of output. My strongest up there shoots water way past the roof in all directions. Cost a bit - but hey.  Wink
