Coronaviruses (CoVs) are a family of viruses that cause respiratory
and intestinal illnesses in humans and animals.   They usually cause
mild colds in people but the emergence of the severe acute respiratory
syndrome (SARS) epidemic in China in 2002–2003 and the Middle
East respiratory syndrome (MERS) on the Arabian Peninsula in 2012
show they can also cause severe disease.

Covid-19 (SARS-CoV-2) is a variant of viruses first investigated 20 years
ago, which explains why new vaccines were developed so quickly under
an accelerated research program, by multiple global agencies.

I'm actually astounded that anyone would accept as accurate any medical
claims posted by some unknown conspiracy theorist nutter on Facebook.

Cancer, of course, is not caused by a virus... duh.

And WebMD says:  Drugs can treat and control HIV infection. People who
take antiretroviral therapy (ART) daily can lower the amounts of the virus
in their body so much that their blood tests don’t even show it’s there, and
they're at virtually no risk of passing the virus to others.

There's truth to that. The 1957–1958 flu pandemic has virtually been forgotten. Just a handful of years after the greatest war in history, back then everyone was generally resilient against suffering and death.

Of course they have been trying, desperately, to find a vaccine for HIV. And there is loads of money in it and loads has been spent trying.

I honestly don't know why you would assert otherwise.

It is because of the intricate defence mechanisms of the HIV virus, intense proliferation and the wide variation of strains that no vaccine has been forthcoming, nothing more.

There are numerous viruses which have no vaccines, not because vaccines aren't researched for these viruses but because the viruses themselves are difficult to decode. For HIV, for example, a vaccine would require an almost whitewash from the immune cells because of the nature of the virus. This is of course impossible.

The reason we have Covid vaccines is because work against these particular nasties was commenced over 20 years ago and it is a virus that lends itself to being controlled to some measure by vaccines.

There is no conspiracy here.

How easy it is to create a vax for HIV has no bearing on the ability to create a vax for Covid when the whole world threw money at the problem

For example, there are many vaccines for cancer (both preventive and therapeutic).

e.g. Gardasil 9:
