They Can't Afford To See A Dentist
May 26th, 2022 at 6:56pm

BRING DENTAL INTO MEDICARE   Smiley
April 13 2022 Greens.org.au
Dental care is too expensive. Too many people can’t afford to see a dentist.
In Australia, everyone can see a doctor using their Medicare card, and there’s no reason that it
should be any different for your teeth.
The Greens secured free dental for kids into Medicare in 2012. However, our healthcare system
continues to prevent people from getting the care they need throughout their life, allowing
treatable oral conditions to turn into serious illnesses.
The Greens will invest $77.6 billion over the decade to provide free dental care to everyone who is
eligible for Medicare, ensuring everyone can visit the dentist when they need to.
THE GREENS WILL:   Smiley
▲ Invest $77.6 billion over the decade to provide Medicare-funded dental care for all.
▲ Ensure that everyone with access to Medicare is eligible for the clinically relevant
dental service they require, including general dental, orthodontics and restorative
services.
▲ Train the next generation of dentists through fee-free university courses to enable the
expansion of dental care for all.

It's a no-brainer.

Basic dental care should be covered by Medicare.

Yes well said greggery, dental should be covered by Medicare.  With the dentist of your choice.  Good on the Australian Greens.   Smiley

It should have always been the case.

Can't you get free public care on ya healthcare card ? Anyone beyond that should aspire to a bit more than being to be able afford a dentist bill ...

How much is the Federal government planning to spend on submarines and tanks?

I don't know the exact numbers right now but I've seen somewhere between 116 and 120 BILLION for the submarines (which includes paying the French for the cancellation of their contract) and 3.5 BILLION for the tanks.

With that much money to spend the government could provide free or affordable dental care for everyone with Medicare and still have BILLIONS left over.

FACT CHECK

The Greens weren't elected labor was. The Greens aren't going to get their grubby little hands on taxpayers money they don't have a brass razoo to spend.

Where are the Greens going to get the money to pay for this? Roll Eyes

The greens are bullshitters Adam Bandt and Green voters should put their bongs down and get back to reality.

My last dentist bill was $2,500 with a follow up at the same price. Bupa give partial coverage on one major dental per year.

Some people cannot afford that.

Private healthcare is an absolute jip

I agree. I haven't really had any health issues apart from a torn meniscus .. went into surgery 3 days after I tore it (the day before they banned all elective surgeries due to covid Cheesy) and it was all fixed.
