There was nothing mistaken about it.

Mao starved his own people to impress Stalin with grain exports to the Soviet Union. That, and Mao's mental state; killing all the sparrows in rural China because he decided they ate too much grain; they mainly ate locusts and other crop-eating insects, so he brought on a plague.

Still banging on about events over half a century ago.

Hopeless.

China under the CCP has the worst safety record in the world. There are hospitals 100% specialising in dealing with severed limbs because there are no safety precautions for workers (particularly migrant workers who are little more than slaves in the workers' paradise) and hundreds of thousands of people lose fingers, hands, arms toes, feet and legs every year.

At least China is still building things. These days the US is mostly a funny-money casino, a rent-seekers' paradise, with half the population living paycheck to paycheck in insecure mickey-mouse gig-economy jobs.

It's as if torture by the Spanish Inquisition moved to China after it was abolished in Europe.

Certainly the Conservative  SCOTUS is resembling the Inquisition these days, demanding women relinguish  control over their own bodies (in Conservative states).

A couple of the  CCP prostitutes here used to bring up the Opium wars to justify the CCP threatening its neighbours; Mao murdered his own.

It's an unfortunate part of the Chinese psyche that they can't bring themselves to tear down that picture of Mao on that wall.

Slave labour sure helps. And when they're killed on the job, it's just a quick trip to the crematorium to dispose of the bodies (and charge the family of the deceased for their relative's cremation, of course).

It's another unfortunate part of the Chinese psyche: their tolerance of their own slavery at the hands of gangsters.

Patience, it takes time to raise  a fifth of the world's population from poverty to prosperity. It won't be long before per capita income rivals the US, with infrastructure making the US look 3rd world.

While US workers, blinded by delusional "freedom" ideology, are raped by the casino, funny-money rentiers of non-productive financial capitalism.

Joe wants to bring real jobs back to America, but once a proportion of the population gets a taste of easy funny-money, there's no way back to a real economy.

Not likely. The Chinese have the instincts of a bucket of crabs, made worse by rampant corruption with the bulk of the loot going to CCP gangsters.

So you're not denying that hat the Chinese are enslaved by gangsters.

Chinese migrant workers are literally and routinely raped.

the CCP are not gangsters, they are susceptible to corruption like any government officials.

Meanwhile the survival of the fittest neoliberal market economy is more subtle in its deceptive wage slavery - with minimum wage in the US below poverty level...if you have a job.

The CCP has been full of gangsters since it was founded. Mao used criminals and gangsters from the underclasses to enforce his will from the beginning. Who better to bash and murder anyone with resources.

From there it has become generational.

First came the red princlings. Then the sons, grandsons and great-grandsons (who weren't murdered during the cultural revolution) have inherited their respective forebears' roles and status having learned their craft of gangsterism.

No, it's a comment on a people who have had to survive under the shadow of gangsters.

Nonsense.

"Chen Duxiu (Chinese: 陳獨秀; Wade–Giles: Ch'en Tu-hsiu; 8 October 1879 – 27 May 1942) was a Chinese revolutionary socialist, educator, philosopher and author, who co-founded the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) with Li Dazhao in 1921. From 1921 to 1927, he served as the Communist Party's first General Secretary".

From here your narrative becomes increasingly distorted by your paranoid delusions of "freedom" being crushed by "authoritarianism".

We have to look at - and understand -  WHY you reject establishment  of international law under the auspices of a UN-based ICJ backed by a UNSC minus veto....

And hence why you prefer the endless slaughterhouse of war that is human history....

From 1921 to 1927, he served as the Communist Party's first General Secretary".

Mao was a psychopath and a killer, who learned to hone his disorders from Stalin's example, as anyone who knew him would admit. Even the young Xi was very lucky to have evaded Mao's gangsters during the cultural revolution.

Mao, as with Stalin before him, specifically chose and promoted those from the so-called lumpenproletariat who were capable of any atrocity without remorse; he rewarded the most merciless with money, power and access to village girls to rape.

Also like Stalin before him, Mao ultimately became paranoid of the gangsters who surrounded him and, with an induced famine under his belt, perpetrated a Stalinist purge on steroids (the cultural revolution) to rid himself of them.

The Deng era brought the distraction from CCP gangsterism by promoting get-rich-quick schemes but, without rule of law, no independent audit process, nor independent judiciary and ultimately no independent media, China descended into another hellstorm from which it has not emerged.

Xi has abused state power in his so-called corruption purge by only targeting his political enemies while turning a blind eye to those in the Xi faction.

There should be no surprises with this.

The CCP is the Mafia with a country.

It is unreformable and will always be, like the Mafia, run by a mob of gangsters.

The Private Life of Chairman Mao, by Li Zhisui

A significant theme in the book is Li's gradual transition from his initial sincere admiration for Mao as a leader of the country to his eventual disgust, contempt, and personal dislike of the leader due to Mao's manipulation of people and events, odd sexual habits, abuses of power, substitution of slogans, and cult of personality for knowledge of modern science or administrative ability, and above all Mao's indifference to the suffering of the general population due to his failed policies. Throughout the book, Li compares Mao to the historical Chinese Emperors in the tactics he used to control people around him, noting Mao's frequent references to and reading of the histories of Imperial China.
Wiki

In 1997 in Hong Kong one of Mao Zedong’s numerous sexual partners — in this case an underage one — told me her life story. Mao the monster was already notorious: his lunatic policies had caused the world’s worst famine (1959–1961), in which 40 to 50 million Chinese starved to death; he inspired the Cultural Revolution (1966–1976), when a few million more died. And before he came to power in 1949, Mao often ordered the murder of those who challenged his ambitions within the Chinese Communist Party.

But a paedophile? Yes indeed. Ms Chen, the young woman with whom Mao began sleeping in 1962, was 14. The Chairman was born in 1893. His consumption of young women, while he was married to Jiang Qing, one of the Gang of Four, was notorious, and became more so after the publication in 1994 of The Private Life of Chairman Mao, by Li Zhisui, Mao’s doctor. For years Dr Li listened to Mao boasting about his sexual practices and prowess; he also treated the Great Helmsman for various venereal diseases. He continued, against Dr Li’s advice, to sleep with his numerous young partners, some of whom were described as his nurses. Although at least one became pregnant, Dr Li knew that Mao was infertile; he never revealed this to his patient.
