Bright as a blown globe is young bwyannnmnnn.
I have a spare room/ office where I keep my computer, printer, 3d printer and lazer cutter.
Has a lovely view of the parkland outside next to the retirement home just built.
The main bedroom is for my wife and I.
With the other 2 bedrooms set up for visitors.
But I tend to spend more time in my garage working on projects.
And I use my tablet to play while watching tv at night.
I'd love a basement, but tis not to be.
I have a mate in Balmain who has a basement and an attic.
An average of two tiny rooms on each of the 5 floors, three of which are under street level out the back on the serious slope back down to the bay.
Skinny stairs preclude normal furniture, requiring custom made and assembled stuff or built in.
I have done quite a bit over the years helping him and love his hobbit house.
But I know the missus woukd never live there.
Too tight, too many stairs, no parking and far too crowded for her liking.
We can drive around our house on our property ( just on the northern side)
And the smallest room is 4.8 x 4 metres with 9 ft ceiling height.
My son has the biggest house I have seen on his property.
A bit run down, but we are working on that.
7 bedrooms, each dwarfing our rooms.
A 10x 6m lounge room.
A 6x4m kitchen
And what he calls a small dining room only 5x5 m
He is saving for his shed
A 20x 40m shed for the farm equipment.
Now that's a big house.
My parents had a small semi in Marrickville when they were alive.
2 bedroom, the second absolutely tiny ( 3 inches had to be cut off the end of the bed to fit).
The largest room was 3x3m, but has 12ft ceilings of horse hair plaster.
I have done a lot of work on that house.
New roof, new ceilings, replaced the flooring in two rooms due to termites.
I built in a new kitchen and made an invalid bathroom to fit in the tiny area out the rear of the house.
Size for size, my home is nearly three times the size of dad's house ( not including my huge garage and separate laundry)
Houses are big money sinks.
You are always pumping cash into them and there is always more to do.
But the missus loves her home and that's all that matters.
How is your welfare flat bwyannnnnnnnn?
One or two bedroom?
