Sydney's decade-long gang war is believed to have been smashed by police in just 48 hours, with 115 people charged during a two-day operation targeting alleged members, associates and supporters of organised criminal networks.
Operation Hawk targeted members of the Hamze and Alameddine crime families in a series of raids, starting from 6am on Thursday and concluding at 2am yesterday.

During the operation, police allegedly seized 19 firearms, 672 rounds of ammunition and nearly $100,000 cash.

Officers on Thursday raided a Penshurst home, seizing drugs, weapons and cash.

The next day, a police chase in Bondi ended with two arrests and homes searched, allegedly uncovering almost $4 million worth of the drug ice.

Hours later, officers chased and stopped an allegedly stolen vehicle from Pendle Hill, arresting a 35-year-old over a spate of alleged jewelry store heists.

Raids in Blacktown and Auburn also uncovered a haul of illicit substances, police said.

"In total, police executed 66 Firearm Prohibition Order searches and crime scene warrants, charging 115 people with a combined 292 offences," NSW Police said.
