Police kill people, usually innocent people, or those who've committed
relatively minor crimes, in cowboy-style pursuits EVERY DAY.
They've got a shytload of unmitigated gall to charge this bloke while
they endlessly try to justify themselves doing the EXACT SAME THING!
Innocent people don't do runners for Police to pursue them ..... they pull over.
The only thing that has a semblance of truth is that Police do exactly the same thing as this bloke has done .... the only difference is he's not a copper and it's a coppers job.
Well, no, actually.
It's ALL true.
And the victims, even if guilty of some minor or petty crime or traffic
infringement, do NOT deserve to die simply because they flee. What you don't quite get is;
Joy riders/thieves, put both themselves and the general motoring public at great risk.
How many times have you heard about some thief or joy rider killing innocent drivers through their actions.
By simply stealing the car, they have demonstrated that they have no care for the car, other drivers or their passengers.
Car thieves are right up there with terrorists and should be treated accordingly.
It should bring with it a mandatory gaol term and serious repatriation, to be paid to the person who's car was stolen.
When we were younger, living in Sydney (late 70s early 80s) car theft was so common it was almost expected.
The cars were easier to get into and easier to start.
I knew of several apprentices at TAFE who used to install razor blades under the dash, so anyone reaching up there would be nicely sliced and diced.
We all had a good chuckle at TAFE one day when one of the students showed us the results of such misguided attempt to steal his car.
There was a considerable quantity of claret all over the inside.
Another apprentice was given his grandfather's car when he died.
A week later it was stolen and wrapped around a pole, the thief had to be cut out, in pieces.
The apprentice sent the family a thank you note for the death of their worthless son.
I have no time for thieves.
I have less time for car thieves.
It's a good outcome if they kill themselves when they write off the car.
At least you know who to send the bill to.
