NSW recorded 1,288 new locally acquired COVID-19 cases in the 24 hours to 8:00pm yesterday.

There were also seven COVID-19 deaths.
It brings the Delta outbreak’s total fatalities to 107.

A man in his 70s from south-western Sydney died at Liverpool Hospital after becoming infected there.

He was fully vaccinated, but chief health officer Kerry Chant said he had "significant" underlying health conditions.

He is the 12th death linked to a cluster at the hospital.

A man in his 80s from Sydney's north died at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital after becoming infected there.

He was also fully vaccinated but had underlying health conditions.

Three other men from Sydney's south-west also died in hospitals. One was aged in his 50s and had underlying health conditions. The other two were in their 80s.

Two women from south-west Sydney, aged in their 70s and 80s, also died in hospitals.

.
Here’s some details of the 7 deaths that occurred in NSW.
.

The seven deaths announced today include:
A man in his 80s from south-western Sydney died at Campbelltown Hospital. He had underlying health conditions and wasn't vaccinated.
A woman in her 80s from south-western Sydney died at Liverpool Hospital. She was not vaccinated.
A man in his 70s from south-western Sydney died at Liverpool Hospital. He acquired his infection at the hospital. He's the 12th death linked to this outbreak. He had received both doses of a vaccination. He did have significant underlying conditions.
A man in his 80s from Sydney's north shore died at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital and he acquired his infection at the hospital. He had received both doses of vaccination but had significant underlying conditions.
A man in his 50s from south-western Sydney died at Royal North Shore Hospital. Again, he was not vaccinated and had underlying health conditions.
A man in his 80s from south-western Sydney. He died at St George Hospital
A woman in her 70s from south-western Sydney who died at Campbelltown Hospital
.
.
What I see is…. 2 out of 7 were fully vaxxed. So it’s about 30%.

What I also see is, if you are old, and have underlying health conditions, vaxxed or not… you’re still cactus if you get the virus. So much for those 2 that hoped the vax meant to lessen the severity of the wu flu.

It’s always going to be a nervous reaction to many elderly seeing this type of statistical outcome. Most elderly will hope they are going to survive, even if fully vaxxed.
And no one will know unless exposed to the virus.

It’s starting to get away in Melbourne now.

I have to say, my observation of the traffic on the road was as busy as ever when I went for my dental appointment, and nearby food shopping.
It’s astounding!

Here in Melbourne -
just got back from the supermarket -
it seems I'm the only one who used a QR code login.
People were everywhere in the street without any masks.
I think they have given up?

Are you kidding Bobby?
Here where I live everyone wears a mask, and dies the QR signing in. Sanitizers everywhere too. Social distancing abided by.
We must be so at polar ends apart of the thinking world or something.
Perhaps that’s why in my area we are COVID free? Not even our waste water has COVID in it.

Not where I live.
We have no official cases here but I suspect there are many as
too many people don't follow the rules.

NSW records 1,431 new COVID-19 cases,
12 deaths

as Premier says infections will peak in next fortnight

...

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian says COVID-19 infections are expected to peak in the next two weeks after the state recorded 1,431 new cases and 12 deaths.
Key points:

There were over 827,000 COVID-19 jabs administered in NSW in the past week
A woman in her 30s died on Wednesday after being infected with COVID-19
There have been 119 COVID-19 related deaths in NSW since the start of the Delta outbreak

Friday's numbers were the highest daily infection figures ever recorded by an Australian jurisdiction in a day.

"The next fortnight is likely to be our worst in terms of the number of cases," she said.

"September and October will be the most challenging because we are going [to be] dealing with extra hospitalisations and extra ICU hospitalisations

"But we're also going through both the exciting but challenging time of opening up."

Ms Berejiklian said her government would next week release modelling that showed how many people it expected to end up in hospital with COVID-19 in September and October.

Is NSW doomed?

Israel has a much higher vax rate and they are still in trouble.

Yes they opened, Think it may show that the Delta and more recent versions are strong enough to drive enough break through cases to drive the virus through the vaccinated population. The reality is that the vaccines that work at lower rates are just not good enough against delta. Still the best we have and do protect most.

NSW records 1,533 new COVID-19 cases, four deaths
as total infections in Wilcannia near 100

NSW broke its own COVID-19 records for a second consecutive day after 1,533 new infections, and four deaths, were identified in the 24 hours to 8:00pm yesterday.
Key points:

Yesterday was the second busiest day on record for NSW Ambulance
Health authorities continue to be concerned by case numbers in regional areas
Lifeline's John Brogden said the organisation was receiving more than 1,000 calls per day from people in NSW

While most of them were in Sydney's west and south-west, there is increasing concern about the deteriorating situation in the state's regional areas, where the virus is continuing to spread.

In the tiny town of Wilcannia, which has a high Indigenous population and is about 950km west of Sydney, almost 100 people have tested positive over the course of NSW's Delta outbreak.

Nine new infections yesterday brought the total number of cases in Wilcannia to 97 — that means roughly 13 per cent of people in the town have the virus.

Because of the totally useless National party. A party of National idiots, that's all they are

I noticed that Bullaro only appeared on TV when a regional LGA became infected

He never came on when Regional NSW was free of Covid and assured bush folk the the Nationals are doing everything to keep us safe from Sydney - no, they just let it spread. They've failed in their duty of care, look at Regional NSW now, filling up with Covid

The Nationals are as useless as wooden frypans, I'll never vote for them
