Without a functional economy you do not have a public health system

Haven't got much of a functional economy at the moment, have we? Except for the WA mining industry which is probably the only thing keeping Australia 'afloat' right now.

This is also another reason why WA's Premier, Mark McGowan, is so 'paranoid' about stopping Covid outbreaks here (apart from the health system/hospitals not being able to cope) - if the mining industry has to shut down due to Covid then WA and probably the whole of Australia is screwed.

If Australia opens up now and lets Covid 'rip' then I wonder how the economy would fare with tens (or hundreds) of thousands of sick people not being able to work and overwhelming the health system and hospitals? Not to mention the inevitable numerous deaths (but hey, as long as its just the 'oldies' that's probably still OK with you, is it?).

Do you think it might have something to do with fearing covid?

NSW records 753 COVID cases,
reaches 6 million vaccinations mark

Premier Gladys Berejiklian says she will announce later this week what COVID restrictions will ease for fully vaccinated people next month after NSW reached 6 million jabs and recorded 753 new cases.

Ms Berejiklian said she was "deeply grateful" that NSW had reached the milestone of 6 million vaccinations.

"I look forward to making the announcement on Thursday or Friday this week as to what fully vaccinated people will be able to do from the month of September because of the target we have set," she said.

"Thank you to everybody who has stepped up and got the job. That equates to 60 per cent of our population across the state with at least one dose."

However, she wouldn't be drawn on whether that new freedom would also apply to the 12 local government areas (LGAs) of concern.

The Premier pointed to ongoing suburbs of concern, warning residents to assume they have COVID-19 or those around them are infected with the virus.

"Suburbs of concern remain Auburn, Maryland, Yagoona, Guildford, Punchbowl, Blacktown and surrounding areas."

Of the 753 locally acquired cases, 283 were from Western Sydney Local Health District (LHD), 233 were from South Western Sydney LHD, 73 were from Sydney LHD.

Yes we all need reminding of the obvious shortcomings of mass immigration, multi race, multiculturalism and English as a little known second language

All those suburbs are packed full of ethnics

Let some more planes land at Mascot Gladys, throw a few more infected foreigners into the mix

Well public servants buy stuff, usually better stuff than you because of more disposable income. But hey completely misinterpret the point.

We will pay for this forever.
Already our savings are disappearing from inflation.
Covid has won the war by destroying our economy and finances.

We could have had both.
Our Federal debt is now over $1 trillion but it
was already massive before Covid.
ScoMo is printing money via the Reserve Bank.
Every promise he makes should be prefaced by -

"I'm borrowing/printing more money to do...."

Where do you get this absurd sh1t from? Australian savings are increasing and inflation is low. Covid isnt destroying the economy, its redistributing it. Australians used to spent billions on overseas holidays every year, that discretional spending is not disappearing, I will go further, Covid has been good for the Australian economy.
