I wonder why most of the cases are in Sydney west/south west?

NSW Police have issued an appeal to find a Sydney man who they say tested positive to COVID-19 and is accused of failing to isolate.
An arrest warrant was issued for Anthony Karam, 27, who "has failed to isolate as directed by the Public Health Order".

Karam is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, with an olive complexion, about 170cm tall and of a thin build. He has short dark hair, brown eyes, a beard and moustache.

He is known to frequent Greenacre, Wentworth Point and Parramatta.

“If I take a day off for my mental health I know that they’re not being seen. It’s just got so bad … you have no idea.”

Dr Harris says she’s heard the Monash Medical Centre and Royal Children’s Hospital are “inundated” with mental health cases.

“None of them want to talk because their jobs are on the line, but they’re seeing it,” she said.

Mental health leaders urge Australia to learn to live with COVID

A growing number of mental health leaders are warning the aggressive pursuit of zero-COVID through lockdowns is coming at too high a cost to people’s wellbeing and we must learn to live with the virus, amid surging calls for help.

Prominent psychiatrist and former Australian of the Year Patrick McGorry said eliminating COVID-19 was unsustainable and should be abandoned as soon as the 70-80 per cent vaccination threshold was reached.

NSW is doomed -
the toll will be 3000 to 4000 per day by the end of September 2021.

891 new cases as of August 21, 2021. Last year, there were a peak of 715 new cases in Australia on August 5, 2020. Even if they open up the country and let people go maskless, I doubt that there would be more than 1000 new cases per day in all of Australia. People would still be acting "socially distant" and wearing masks, and doing proper hygiene procedures. Those hotspots for the virus and the social gatherings would still be the main sources of transmissions. They only real way of seeing 3000 to 4000 new cases of coronavirus per day would be if we lifted restrictions on arrivals coming back to Australia from covid heavy countries.
