Why does it taste like kerosene mixed with bitumen? I'll have to throw it out, it's terrible stuff

The only reason I bought it was because Coles doesn't sell Mighty Mite anymore, and the G/free Vegemite was cheaper than the normal Vegemite, which is pretty expensive

Nahhh, I'll look around to see who still sells Mighty Mite, it's better and cheaper

There's been a lot of social media activity about Vegemite and some people are swearing the taste and consistency have changed while others haven't noticed.

Probably QC issues?

It sticks to the knife and drags along the bread resisting staying on the bread

It would make good Ormonoid sound proofing, it smells much the same and would stick to any car body panel, using a trowel to apply it

Mighty Mite is much better, it's just like the original Vegemite when it was all Aussie, before it was sold

Gluten free, reduced salt....all this tampering with Vegemite not only destroys the unique taste, but also removes the drop bear repellent qualities that make it an essential item in the bush.  When the first unsuspecting bushwalker who had dabbed this adulterated Vegemite behind their ears instead of the real thing has their head torn off by a drop bear we will see a mass rejection of this fake item!

Vegemite is expensive and it appears to be selling just on it's iconic name


I'll try Woolies to see if they sell Mighty Mite. It's not on Coles shelves in town where I used to get it, maybe covid has something to do with lack of supply
