THE brother of slain Aussie jihadist Mohamed Elomar will no longer be subjected to a strict supervision order despite being in contact with a man allegedly involved in the recruitment of IS fighters.

Former boxer Ahmed Elomar, 38, (pictured) was first put on the extended supervision order in 2016 after serving a three-year jail sentence for knocking unconscious a police officer with a wooden flagpole during the 2012 Hyde Park riots. Prosecutors recently applied for another ESO against Elomar and told the NSW Supreme Court they were concerned about people he was associating with including a man called Ibrahim Massri, who he sent eight multimedia messages to in February 2020.



Elomar had told the court he now keeps horses on a property in southwest Sydney and that his long-term ambition is to breed and show Arabian purebred horses.

He also has completed an Australian Institute of Fitness course and wants to work as a personal trainer.

Justice Hamill said it was “extremely unlikely” Elomar would himself commit a terrorist act.

“He has never committed any such act and has not expressed any view that suggests he has any interest in doing so, the facts suggest the opposite,” the judge said.

“The risk is that he would be used by sinister forces in some facilitative role.

“I accept the consequences of this are potentially very grave but, in attempting to predict the possible outcomes, Mr Elomar is unlikely to have any direct involvement in planning or organising such an act.”

Five minutes in the country and he's got a nice horse breeding property in South West Sydney.... where did the money come from... personal training?  Is this kind of like the training camp down south near where we had the farm?

Maybe they're running him on a long leash to see how and when he stuffs up and with whom.
