Why do so many Chinese live in the West?

There's a chance I could be moving to China myself... maybe.... depends on many things.

After an intense visit to China the year before COVID-19 broke out....
My hubby and I would not wish to live there, many people are not independently well off .... can’t own their own property.... (it clicked to me why so many Chinese buy up overseas properties instead...ie...Australia) ....old people have to be (forced) looked after by their younger generations or else they risk fines/jail terms.

When 2 young Chinese girls working in a store summed up I’m not a spy and a genuine Aussie shopper/tourist... in their broken English were telling me in a secret way as they checked the perimeter of being within earshot of anyone...”you don’t know how hard it is for us” as we continued to talk of their struggles.

You know I picked up on a fear of them being able to talk freely?

Many live in fear.... have to abide by whatever it is they know which imposes restrictions .... have to be  “yes” people.

Mechanic hubby kept pointing out all the scooters in poor condition and how they are strapped to keep from falling apart.

Life is cheap over there. They are suppressed. They have family on one scooter travelling with no safety requirements!
One young mum sitting behind her partner/hubby, holding a baby in one arm .... yet here in Australia, we need safety approved seats/harnesses in a car... forget riding gunshot in a clapped out bike holding a precious baby loosely in arm!!!

Another store holder with a lovely jacket I bought from him, was telling me how Chinese money so cheap....worth little....I told him our Australian dollar is worth the same value to their yuan... so I concluded our money must be worth cheap too!

When back home, in Oz, people asked me if I bought lots of goods being cheaper over there. I said no, not the case at all... nothing seemed cheap as our Aussie dollar wasn’t that powerful in terms of value over there.

Yah, yah.... don't forget, GI, who is sleeping with your wife tonight while you sit in your muddy trench on Iwo Jima waiting for the heroic People's Army to come get you... arriving by train from mainland are many millions of volunteers ........ in Beijing Glorious People's Republic all flowers and pretty girls as Spring is in the air ..... enjoy your sleep tonight, GI...... maybe for the last time.... now a little music from back home for you to remember ...

More likely to be followed around by a 'customs' officer or something.. like in Fiji...  nah - just a trip... I want to see Tibet... but be careful what you photograph... there's a reason you cannot self-drive in Tibet...

Modified - you can self-drive - just not alone and only with a Chinese driving licence ...... work that out... ah-ha - you hire a local driver approved by the State...

The poor marketeers would have shet themselves if she did...

They'd think she really was a CCP undercover cop.

And we all know what happens when a Chinese national gets caught speaking poorly of the CCP, don't we.

Hmm, lols, I have a funny feeling that you may have overpaid some of those goods.  They were perhaps trying to get your sympathy, so that you can buy at an inflated price?    Huh

"There is a potential military crisis on the horizon that "Australia won't be able to escape," experts warn.

China has vowed to reclaim a defiant Taiwan with the leader of the Chinese Communist Party, Xi Jinping, previously declaring he will take the country by force if necessary.

Australian Strategic Policy Institute Executive Director Peter Jennings fears Australia will have nowhere to hide if that happens.

Speaking on Sky News, he said the US would be drawn into any military escalation "and you better believe the United States will be expecting the help of its two key allies in the region – Japan and Australia – to play a role in the defence of Taiwan".

"This is something we won't be able to escape it seems to me," he said."

I totally agree that Australia will be drawn into it and that's as it should be.

All democracies have a duty to defend each other..

And if we love democracy and the freedoms it provides to us, then we owe it to our society to stand in its defense... It's not just about enjoying it as if it were god-given and inalienable from us.

And we rightly honour the Hong Kong protesters (and others) who are prepared to risk their lives to defend democracy.

The CCP is the great evil of our time that threatens the fundamental tenets of our society and it must be ended as urgently as our great-grandfathers and grandfathers were asked to do against National Socialism... Or throttled, as Soviet tyranny was.

Dude go back to primary school and learn basics like what democracy is.

You don't have democracy but monarchy.

https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=Monarchy+vs+democracy

"Democracy is a form of government in which the people have the authority to choose their governing legislation. A monarchy is a form of government in which a person, the monarch, is the head of state for life or until abdication".
Have you ever democratically elected your head of state?

You can call yourself whatever you want but the  fact is that you still remain British subject.
Accordingly common law, nationals of countries of which Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is Head of State are still referred to as "Her Majesty's subjects".

"Subject is derived from the Latin words, sub and jacio, and means one who is under the power of another; but a citizen is an unit of a mass of free people, who, collectively, possess sovereignty. Subjects look up to a master, but citizens are so far equal, that none have hereditary rights superior to others"

Therefore, my dear "Her Majesty's Subject", stop living in your dreams, return to the reality of your puppet colony and do not mix with the citizens of the free world.

Always makes me laugh reading mainland Chinese struggling with political debate!

I'm a republican, but I accepted the will of the Australian people to retain ceremonial ties with the British monarch...

But I can criticise the desire for those ties... I'm free to do that.

Could you openly criticise the CCP? Even the greatly and rightly honoured Li Wenliang died at the hands of the CCP.

Could you found the Chinese Democratic Party? No? Why not? Well.. You know what the CCP would do to you... And what they'd do to your family (if you have any)... Particularly your sister(s) (if you have any female siblings)... I'm guessing you're not married, but if you are... You'd have some idea of what they'd be doing to her. Don't you.

My dear "Her Majesty's Subject" The CCP is a serious political organization whose members are elected and promoted on the basis of merit, not on the basis of nepotism and privilege.
On the other hand, the Australian Parliament consists of a privileged job for boys and girls, where the growing decadence among the Anglo-Saxon elite has been manifested in a series of scandals in which Parliamentarian staff raped colleagues in ministerial offices and filmed them masturbating over their bosses' desks.
What a lovely democracy you have.

Now, that truly is comedy!

They don't call Xi Jinping a red princeling for nothing!

They do walk among us....

Can you imagine anything in China that's not predicated on nepotism and privilege?

https://au.yahoo.com/news/the-china-crisis-australia-wont-be-able-to-escape-0404...

"This is something we won't be able to escape it seems to me," he said."

.. read more in link.. it's Yahoo News - safe to use...

I totally agree that Australia will be drawn into it and that's as it should be.

All democracies have a duty to defend each other.

Personally, I dont give a sh1t. Australia  is one of the wealthiest, cleanest and best run countries  in the world, and we do it all without dragging people out the back and putting a bullet in their head, unlike China. I think exports to China  have topped 300 billion this year and its going to get bigger, economically we have China by the balls. I only hope good old XI bans some more Australian exports so we can sell it to them at an even bigger price. He really is an idiot that XI, he loves to make Australians rich. Grin

What a lovely democracy you have.

God forbid is it possible for something like that to happen in parliament. What kind of country is Australia? Do they think that Parliament is a brothel. What kind of psychopaths work there? has anyone been fired for such behavior?
This is really amassing, while the Chinese work hard and prosper Australians screw each other in parliament singing Aussie, Aussie oi, oi, oi.

I agree that any asshole guilty of such things in government should be fired/sacked... and that includes politicians elected... if they carry on like their job gives them exemption from the normal results for anyone out there in the general community - they are not the right people for the job anyway.

Out the door, brother/sister and by-election...

Funny thing - during the Boxer Rebellion, the Chinese troops most likely to attack and get into it were Muslims... the rest sort of considered it a holiday game to lock up the legation and such...

China have been laughing at America since Trump was elected, what do you expect when you elect a clown was one answer?

Most Chinese do not know about the insurrection in the US. Or care.

WHY – Education, better condition, better employment, Better health care more affordable and no Donalds.

Biggest challenge was losing my sense of American exceptionalism.

How is America going – it’s a mess.

Not just the Chinese are Laughing at the USA – its everyone.

China feels good that their system is doing better than the US system.

Chinese just find Trump funny but do not understand it.

Trump is the greatest thing ever to happen to china - China attribute Chinese success to Trump’s incompetence.

Matt is Close to Donald you know a friend of that fun guy Epstein and his girl Maxwell who we wish nice things for of course. You mention Bill but forget that it was Donald who had a 13 year old accuse him of multiple sexual assaults while in the company of Epstein and Maxwell which does not make it seem any less probable. Yes the same Jeffrey E who was convicted of the same type of paedophilia in the same time frame based on the very same sex party's. As well as Maxwell currently in prison for what you ask ?

Well no you didn't ask did you in fact you likely that you desperately want to not know. Not to worry sex trafficking isn't serious is it ?

You may wonder why the Same Donald who has thrown everyone else under the bus is wishing Maxwell well ?

What do you think he is frightened of her saying ?

Don't worry... The CCP's diplomats and associates are major sex abusers in (Chinese) brothels in Australia... And they have their Embassy / Consulate to hide behind if sh!t hits the fan (and it wouldn't surprise me if flinging their faeces at a fan was foreplay for some of them).

However, sexual exploitation and predation is a human flaw, not a specifically cultural one.

Biden is not far from him.
Americans can now choose between an irresponsible and a senile president.
Doesn't that say anything about American democracy?

Well, it says one very important thing about democracy... And one that is fundamental to its endurance and justness... Being: the executive head of state / head of government must not be and is not indispensable.

Under all tyrannies, the cult of personality is utilised to establish that the supreme leader is indispensable... This has been a feature of all tyrannies including National Socialism, Stalinism and Chinese 'communism'...

You might say that Marx's theories were usurped by totalitarians to falsely legitimise their claim that they are 'working for the people'; and, as we've witnessed with 'Marxism', wherever it is installed as the sole political force, it quickly degenerates into tyranny.

What a nonsense.
You have not learned or understood anything in your unlimited ignorance and arrogance.
Dude If God or Law does not exist, everything is allowed.
Do you know, my dear "Her little Majesty's subject", that Parliament is not a whore's house?
When you learn that, elect own head of state and after experiencing a real democracy, then you give lectures on democracy to others.

You're saying god exists, then?

All power accumulation evokes sexual energy to some degree (maybe more in men than women) and it should be called out when it is wrongly acted upon.

I guess you're trying to tell me that the Chinese psyche is immune to this because you're all... impotent?

The CCP is accountable only to itself, so the Chinese people will never hear of any CCP sexual scandals.
