SeeDony.

When it's nice this time of year, it's perfect. The ocean is 23c, air is 27 and most people have buggered off out of the city.

Yup, I never go away for Easter Holidays, it's the best time of year weather wise.

It's better for swimming.
The Melbourne bay is cold even in summer.

Water's warm up this way - the sharks love it... Bruce and Ella the Great Whites off the breakwater, and the school of Grey Nurses - about seven or so - who come in to feed off the fish cleaning tables.

I often wonder how much of a sewer Port Malbadishu is.... pretty enclosed and lots of waste flowing into it...
(and I don't just mean the crowds on a hot weekend, either)
....

The storm water drains of Melbourne do go into our bay.

You can only swim in the bay a week after a large downpour.

Water is a little warm for me but perfect for the 4 year old.

This easter hols he's learned a bunch of new stuff, breathing thru a snorkel, pushing off the bottom back to the surface after I take him down 2 or so meters and kneeling on his foamy nippers board. He's a real waterman in the making.
