So you believe that Chinese intervention will resolve the issues of Al Quaeda and ISIS - or do you think it just may create more dissident groups?  The Arabs have always fought one another - no different now - just a focus for the poor and unemployed young men who can't get a bit otherwise... very old hat stuff now in the West.  We no longer need to go Offshore and beat up on enemies to get righteously laid.... school kids are into it as quick as they can these days - hence the teenage birth rate - and even the governments turn a blind eye to young on young shagging.

The past is the past - those groups were organised by the Muslim groups involved - for their own reasons - the attitudes and values were always there, and were brought to life in the Arab Spring, which could have been for good or bad for the Arabs.

So far there hasn't been much good for them.

So you think the Chinese can do better? That the super-equivalent of autobahns to connect across the New Empire to all the New Provinces, which will facilitate the movement of troops and equipment just as the autobahns and the US highway system were designed to do, will instead bring peace?

I'm researching my extended trip to Asia - was actually amazed to find I could take a train from Lhasa to Kazakhstan... and a train is being connected from Lhasa to Kathmandu... or I could just fly... Kathmandu to Lhasa goes over Mt Everest - easier on the old heart than a trek ...to get to Kazakhstan direct from Oz costs many Faroffistani drachmae - to take a self-guided tour is far cheaper and far more interesting... air and trains across China are cheap as Dim Sims... and trains are slower and you see more.

You don't know much about the chauvinism of the CCP Chinese male, do you?

I'll let you know when I get back.... be meeting with a Chinese lady lawyer who clearly says she is sick of her restricted society for women.... but the government has decreed that men and women are equal, neh?  So it must be, neh?
