Black Americans Debunk - Voter ID Is ‘Racist’

Black Americans Debunk Liberal Talking Point That Voter ID Is ‘Racist’: ‘They’re Ignorant’

"Voter ID Is ‘Racist’" - Is presented, as a devious tactic, as one of those intentionally false debating subjects.

Not presented as a legitimate argument.

But intended to elicit an emotional fear of challenging this FALSE subject, in debate.

Grow a pair - if you call yourself a Conservative !

It isn't about it being racist. It's about the CONservative side of Politics - the GOP, if you will - trying any tactic they are able to, to suppress voter turnout.

The "requirement" to provide ID - as advocated by certain idiots on these boards also - is but one such tactic.

CONservatives. Expressing the will of the people...but only the "right" people... Roll Eyes

As
the video in the OP's post
shows, the white liberals (leftists) are the ones teetering on racism, while when made aware of this, the blacks interviewed in the video have one word for them......IGNORANT........these whites are plain out & out IGNORANT......Voter-ID is overwhelmingly welcome by the black majority....& the polls show/prove/verify that.

Seems that the story that Voter-ID is 'racist'.....or 'suppresses' the black/minority vote......is just a narrative made up by IGNORANT whites who have no clue about what the majority of blacks think!

Requiring voter ID is (just) one of the CONservatives' strategies to suppress voter turnout.

How is anyone's vote suppressed?

No ID. No vote. Simple.

Who does such a policy target? People who would normally NOT vote Republican. Else why would Republicans - including people like yourself - be calling for it to be mandated/expanded?

Like many other ideas designed to "protect voting integrity" (but in reality designed to try and ensure Republican election wins), it is a solution looking for a problem which doesn't exist.

Lower voter turnout favours the CONservatives.

So, in order to try and ensure that there is a lower voter turnout, Republicans seek to impose more and more "conditions" on people's right to vote, so that in a country where voting is voluntary, many people who would not vote for them, are encouraged not to bother voting at all.

It seems you have a bit of a "thing" going on about voter ID requirements at present - a reference being made to it in your signature, for example.

Tell me...just how big of a (documented) problem voter fraud actually is, such that mandatory voter ID laws are required.

Or is it only an issue with you (and people of your ilk), because a lot of people turned out at the last election to ensure that "the other side won"?

In other words, had you gotten the result you wanted at the last election, would you be banging on about voter ID laws now?

I suspect not...

I asked for simple and I get horseshit!

Every American who has reached their sixteenth birthday has government issued identification. People who do not get a drivers license can get the ID at the local DMV for free since it isn't a permit and will be used for a variety legal transactions. It is the white liberal that claims expecting people to produce the same identification they will use everyday for others purposes is voter suppression. I know people who do not drive and their ID looks a lot like a drivers license but the background and information is different.

If only the legal votes by legal voters had been counted I would accept the results while wondering how so many people could be so blind!

That is your opinion. And an opinion is all it is.

Others hold, shall we say, differing opinions.

https://www.aclu.org/other/oppose-voter-id-legislation-fact-sheet

The legal votes cast by legal voters WERE counted. That is a fact.

Your "opinion" is that, were the system "rigged" in a such a way as to ensure that only "like-minded" people were able to cast a vote, a different outcome would have ensued.

Not necessarily a "just" outcome. Nor necessarily one reflecting the will of the majority of people.

Just the one you wanted, but ultimately failed to get.

So, because you didn't get the result you wanted, you want to change the laws, to fix a practically non-existent issue, to ensure that you do get the result you want next time around, and in all subsequent elections.

Cry me a river... Embarrassed

I've asked this in other threads where people call for strict voter ID laws, and so may as well ask it here...

What actual documented problem do you think voter ID laws will solve, given the historically very low instances of voter fraud evident in U.S elections?

Millions of Americans Lack ID.

entification.

1 • Obtaining ID Costs Money.Even if ID is offered for free, voters must incur numerous costs (such as paying for birth certificates) to apply for a government-issued ID.

• Underlying documents required to obtain ID cost money, a significant expense for lower-income Americans. The combined cost of document fees, travel expenses and waiting time are estimated torangefrom $75 to $175.

2 • The travel required isoften a major burdenon people with disabilities, the elderly, or those in rural areas without access to a car or public transportation. InTexas, some people in rural areas must travel approximately170 miles to reach the nearest ID office.

3 • Voter ID Laws Reduce Voter Turnout.A 2014 GAO study found that strict photo ID laws reduce turnoutby 2-3 percentage points,4which can translateinto tens of thousands of votes lostin a single state.51Brennan Center for Justice, Citizens without Proof: A Survey of Americans’ Possession of Documentary Proof of Citizenship and Photo Identification(New York: Brennan Center for Justice, 2006),

A story from a right wing broadcaster with an expensive suit and pretty pink tie interviewing educated people in the centre of a major city about this is a joke, They all said that there was a DMV around the corner ? Maybe a different story for many less educated rural people who have the nearest DMV 170 miles away, people who do not drive, people with medical conditions, the poor etc ?

Still nit picking this one area is disingenuous, yes there is a race element, and age element a wealth element, a region element etc but it is far from the major concern. Removing Voting boxes, Closing Polling locations, making illegal to give a person with a 9 hour wait to vote a drink (WTF) OH white communities do not get a 9 hour wait it is more like 9 minutes if that. Yes this is racist.

Black Americans don't agree with you!

When you are born here you get a birth certificate and are signed up for a social security number. Years ago people wanting to have a fake ID would visit a cemetery, pick a child born about the time they were and died in the first year or two. Then request a birth certificate and apply for a SSN. Those days are over and everyone has everything they need for a government Photo ID by the time they are two years old.

You people just love to make everything about race, that is racist!

Not all of us.

You're - as Dnarever pointed out - using a (very) small subset of the vote suppression argument to push an agenda.

"See! The blacks don't think voter ID laws are racist!".

Perhaps not.

But the combination of methods employed by (generally) Republicans ARE designed for a specific purpose. That is, to marginalise or disenfranchise a cohort of would-be voters who would likely vote Democrat

I asked what problem voter ID laws are intended to solve, given historically low instances of documented fraud within the U.S electoral system.

Predictably, you've not responded.

Why?

Because we both know fraud is not the "problem" voter ID laws are intended to solve.

No.

Voter ID laws are designed to "lessen" the actual, existent problem of people voting for anyone other than the Republicans.

How do we know this?

Because of the noise around voter ID laws being made post-election. Because of other measures around denying food or water to someone waiting for hours to vote. That isn't about food or water being used to "buy" votes. That is fairly and squarely about:

A) Ensuring that "some" people wait as long as possible to cast a vote, and

B) making the wait as onerous as is possible...again, so that many people who would vote for "the other guy", are encouraged not to bother.

Do you know something?

Maybe...just maybe,,,if the Republicans actually had the interests of all front and centre when formulating policy, they wouldn't have to resort to finding solutions to non-existent problem in the electoral system, to give themselves a legitimate chance of winning elections on their own merit.

It's a worry when one "side" feels that their only chance of winning office is to "rig" the process.

"Sad", indeed.  Roll Eyes

Oh, easy: convicts. You've got the highest jail population in the world, but many states don't let them vote - ex-cons too. Ever been to jail? In some states that stopped you voting for good. I believe your Supreme Court ruled against this only recently.

But then there's "criminals". In some counties, you're not allowed to vote if you have a court case pending. No worries, before election time the sheriff sends his boys out to arrest any blacks they can find. Vagrancy's a good one. Simply serve any porch monkey you find sitting on a stoop. If he's got his feet on the street, he's yours.

The judges throw most of the cases out, but they know the rules too. It might take three months to get to court, and in that time, you've stopped them voting.

Cunning, no? In Deep South states with big black populations this is business as usual. Far from encouraging your citizens to vote, you like to stop them.

You do too, Mort. You don't want the Jigaboos voting in Texas. You want a white boy in. You don't want some clapped-up black preacher as your senator, you want a good ole whiskey sippin white boy.  He he he.

Blacks are too stupid to vote Republican, Mix. Mr Trump pointed that out.

They're also stupid if they vote Democrat. Democrat cities have been run badly, over many years.

Either way, blacks are just stupid. Mr Trump said.

Roll Eyes

Blacks are too stupid to vote Republican, Mix. Mr Trump pointed that out.

They're also stupid if they vote Democrat. Democrat cities have been run badly, over many years.

Just a few currently in place:

Removing vote boxes making voting more difficult

Closing voting locations causing increased travel to vote and drastically increasing queues up to 12 hours or so but only in poorer often coloured areas in democrat regions. Republican areas voter queues are close to non existant.

Making it more difficult to vote by mail.

Clearing democrat area voter rolls.

Making it illegal to supply water of food in a voting queue.

Making it legal for the state government to overturn the election result by selecting their own Electoral college voters. Yes some of the law changes in states would allow the election steal that didn't work in 2021 to work in the future.

Limiting the time of voting and the period of voting.

Removing same day registration and voting.

BS.

Over 11% Don't.

Many cannot get voter ID particularly among the elderly.

Why do people always say things like that when they aren't true......AMERICA IS NOT A DEMOCRACY......never was, & hopefully never will be.........it's a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC, where the rule of the majority is not the order of the day......the Rights of the Minority are protected by Law.....And America is governed by laws.....the United States Constitution......

The Federal Government derives it's sole source of power from the People, & the People's document....the Constitution.....written by the People, for the People where all the powers of an intentionally limited government are spelled out to hold the Federal Government in check......The First 10 Amendments to the US Constitution spell out, & affirm the inalienable Rights of the People, & what the Federal Government is Forbidden to do regarding those Rights, along with what the Federal Government must do to protect & defend the Rights of the People.

Long story short......the People, in the Constitution, gave the States....not the Federal Government......all the power to make the rules pertaining to elections. Therefore, it isn't unusual for there to be different rules on voter eligibility & prerequisites, State to State.

As always, if the American People determine they would want to change this allocation of power, they & only they, can affect change by amending the US Constitution.  The Federal Government does not have the power to make such changes.......only the People......The US Constitution is the Peoples document......The People Make the Law. Laws meant to Govern themselves.........as Individuals.

Yet it is the Republicans who rig elections by preventing legitimate votes.

Nothing in this list has anything to do with voter fraud that is just a bogus justification for election rigging.

The constitution was framed by James Madison the convention chaired by George Washington and the founding Fathers contributed. i.e about 20 elite white males in total.

Saying that this document came from the people does not make it true it came from a very small number of wealthy entitled white male individuals.

Making it legal for the state government to overturn the election result by selecting their own Electoral college voters. Yes some of the law changes in states would allow the election steal that didn't work in 2021 to work in the future.

Limiting the time of voting and the period of voting.

A real champion of Democracy you are...
Roll Eyes

Why is it that Republicans always seek to be less, rather than more, inclusive?

Because they Govern only for a select few...and the rest should neither be seen nor heard from. Roll Eyes

You're playing word games, methinks. There's another poster on these boards you  should get to know better. That worthy, too, likes word games. Roll Eyes

Still, opinions are like arseholes...and you're entitled to yours as much as the next person.

Here's another one.

Quote:
The United States, while basically a republic, is best described as a “representative democracy.”

https://www.thoughtco.com/republic-vs-democracy-4169936

None of which addresses the central point I and others were making, which is that Republicans actively seek to make the "Democratic process" (of voting for elected representatives  Roll Eyes) LESS, rather than MORE representative of the will of the majority of people, by seeking to "exclude" certain people from exercising their right to vote.

Perhaps your "rebuttal"  was a cleverly disguised way of saying "But a LESS representative electoral system is exactly what the constitution seeks to achieve!"

I'd beg to differ. As would others.

It enshrines certain rights and protections. In what is best described in form and function as a "Representative Democracy".

He he he.

Solution?  Be law abiding.

Never thought of that, have you, buftie.

I don't have to, dear. I don't have the cops out the front waiting to arrest me for jaywalking so I don't get to vote in the next erection.

Alas, if I don't vote, I get sent a fine in the mail.

Not about race, is it? Cwiminals are not a race, eh? Oh, old boy, how silly everybody is.

Here we all were thinking the Deep South was a bastion of tinted voter suppression, allowing the Republicans to keep their minority white power base firmly intact through cunning little tricks like arresting blacks for misdemeanors around election time so they can't vote Democrat, but no, it's not like that at all!

Thanks for clearing that one up, old boy. Is there anything you'd like to add?

Roll Eyes

Blacks are too stupid to vote Republican, Mix. Mr Trump pointed that out.

Black Americans don't agree with you!

When you are born here you get a birth certificate and are signed up for a social security number.

Roll Eyes

Blacks are too stupid to vote Republican, Mix. Mr Trump pointed that out.

They're also stupid if they vote Democrat. Democrat cities have been run badly, over many years.

Either way, blacks are just stupid. Mr Trump said.

You deny your racism too, dear.

I say, there's quite a lot of denial going on these days, no?

You could go home to India. The BJP would s.h.i.t can you off to Pakistan. Better off staying in a racist, intolerant, white country like Australia.

Oh, I would, dear. Alas, covid.

Voter identification requirements are supported by 72% of the public. That popularity is largely driven by support from Republicans, 91% of whom support a requirement that all voters provide photo identification in order to cast their ballot.

However, as the poll shows, 56% of Democrats also support requiring photo ID to vote.

He he he.

Solution?  Be law abiding.

Never thought of that, have you, buftie.

I don't have to, dear. I don't have the cops out the front waiting to arrest me for jaywalking so I don't get to vote in the next erection.

Alas, if I don't vote, I get sent a fine in the mail.

You?

Bwianesque idiocy, wee buftie. Nobody is prevented from voting if they have the right to vote.  If that right is removed it is for reasons absolutely unrelated to your race. White crims are also stripped of the right to vote.
Repeating moronic lies like Bbwian, turd, you et all will not turn those lies into truths.

Bwianesque fvckwitterwy, perhaps? Shurely shome mishtake? Stilts?

Absolutely - Bbwianesque fcckwittery and no mistake.

You are lying about random arrests by police around election time.  In any case, your lying avoids the contested issue of voter id. So you are stupid as well.
The Dems are labelling the blacks subnormal, unable to obtain photo IDs. You buy into that so you are on the side of bigoted race baiters on top of it all.

So: lying, stupid, race baiter, trouser sniffer.  Hmmm, tsk, tsk.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Lemme know if you have any other questions, wee buftie.

I'll give you a simple example:

In the 2002 New Hampshire Senate election phone jamming scandal, Republican officials attempted to reduce the number of Democratic voters by paying professional telemarketers in Idaho to make repeated hang-up calls to the telephone numbers used by the Democratic Party's ride-to-the-polls phone lines on election day.

By tying up the lines, voters seeking rides from the Democratic Party would have more difficulty reaching the party to ask for transportation to and from their polling places.

How about this, before anyone else plays your game, what sort of evidence would you need to change your mind?

If it's more than a 1 line answer to a complex issue, will you just ignore it as "not a simple answer"?

What's the playing field here?

You can't borrow a library book, log into your bank account, drive a car, get on an international flight, get into a licensed club, claim social security benefits, etc, etc without proving who you are.

Voting id is required to ensure that you have the right to vote and you vote only once in each election. Elections must be fair and transparent to be acceptable. Why is that such an oppressive thing? Don't  blacks have drivers licences, library cards, bank accounts, social security?

It is such a confected outrage to claim that voter id is somehow about suppressing the black vote.

Give me the simple answer to how anyone's vote is being suppressed!

Where was I talking about the "black vote"?

I talked about voter suppression generally. I talked about that because it is known to favour the Republicans, which is the reason...the ONLY reason...that there is this "confected" nonsense about requiring ID to vote.

Elections in the U.S have been getting more secure each time they are held. The last one was "the most secure in history".

The Republicans didn't get the outcome they wanted as they were unable to disenfranchise enough voters to ensure that they did get the result they wanted.

Now, they - and people like you - are trying to "fix" a non-existent problem, by introducing ever more onerous "conditions" on the right to vote, in the hope that they will get the result they want next time (and presumably in elections thereafter).

I note with some interest that it's the people who lost the last election, AND who could not prove fraud during that election, who are calling loudest to "fix" a non-existent problem.

Says it all, really.

Nobody is against reasonable voter Identification but making the benchmark exclusionary for legitimate voters is the issue particularly in states where poling booth voting requires no id. What is the difference ?

Apparently voter fraud at a polling station is somehow all ok ?

You know that there is fraud in about 0.0002% of cases and most are not postal. Maybe 0.1% of the 0.0002%

Why does the solution to fix bugger all of close to nothing apply in a targeted manner? Why not all voters ? Why just the voters least likely to vote fraudulently?

OH sorry I forgot it was not really about voter fraud just about minimising the vote particularly the coloured vote

I dont see how it is 'targeting colured'  voters. To claim that it is doing so is just insane.

Every normal jurisdiction has a system of ensuring that only eligible voters do vote. How is ensuring that in America 'targeting coloured people'???

He he he.

Bwianesque fvckwitterwy, perhaps? Shurely shome mishtake? Stilts?

Lying Bbwianesque fcckwittery, wee buftie, deliberate lies

Some countries restrict the voting rights of convicted criminals. Some countries, and some U.S. states, also deny the right to vote to those convicted of serious crimes even after they are released from prison. In some cases (e.g. in many U.S. states) the denial of the right to vote is automatic upon a felony conviction

The number of people who do not have voter identification documents are disproportionately coloured or disadvantages. Backup methods of ID would solve the issue however creating the problen is the intention of the legislation

Being 'coloured or disadvantage' does not convey automatic voting rights. They still need to be able to prove eligiblility.

The Australian method is eminently sensible. Prove your identity at registration, get crossed off the register when voting showing proof of id, registers are cross checked to detects attempts of multiple voting.

Overall this strategy is aimed at ensuring that eligible voters cannot vote.

Yes, dear boy, but in America, their coloureds are eligible to vote.

I know, I know, don't shoot the messenger. Some guy called Jefferson had the yeah-but-no-but Bbwianesque fvckwitterwy to suggest that all men are created equal.

Ensuring that the

vote. That means also ensuring that the INELIGIBLE do not. The eligible and the ineligible are NOT equal.

Do you think that's what happened in the 2020 election?

Or are you simply unhappy with the result of the election, and are looking for a "change" to voting laws, to ensure that what happened then, never happens again?

the whole country votes like that Mort, we have amazingly  little electoral  fraud. Probably because Aussies dont like standing in line more than once. Not sure why Frank was claiming that we need ID to vote, perhaps he doesnt have the right to vote and doesnt fully understand the process.    And they give us pencils to mark our votes would you believe. https://lindelltv.com/

Am I unhappy with the results? Since massive voter fraud gave us a senile puppet in the White House of course I am unhappy with the results! Watch and try to disprove the facts of Mike Lindells videos. After five years of liberal denial that Trump won the 2016 election because the Left didn't cheat hard enough people who question the results of 2020 are censored. You can falsely claim Russia stole one election but will be banned by Media claiming voter fraud in the last one.

It is great for public confidence in your system but how would you know if the vote was rigged? The government said it was fair and honest so you believe it was. Everyone goes home happy because the people believe they have a voice in their government but do they really?

You wonder why we look at you lot and shake our heads and think you are children, aint that difficult for us adults.

It is great for public confidence in your system but how would you know if the vote was rigged? The government said it was fair and honest so you believe it was. Everyone goes home happy because the people believe they have a voice in their government but do they really?

We have the Australian Electoral Commission - an independent body set up by the Government and paid for by the Government, Mort.  They are in charge of electoral boundaries and voting, on the day and counting the vote afterwards.

I have worked on numerous elections and it is amazing how honest people are.  They don't want to buck the system, they don't want to cheat the system.  We occasionally have new immigrants who try and present their identity documents and they are amazed when they are refused.  Seems they aren't used to being trusted when they lived overseas.  That is the point, we trust one another, we all want it to work, we all want the election done.

We are required to attend the Polling Station, have our names marked off the electoral roll but we are not required to vote or even accept an electoral ballot (we just can't leave the Polling Station with a ballot).

That is the point though, we trust one another, something that is sadly lacking in your disjointed mayhem of an electoral system...  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Do you think that's what happened in the 2020 election?

Or are you simply unhappy with the result of the election, and are looking for a "change" to voting laws, to ensure that what happened then, never happens again?

https://lindelltv.com/

Am I unhappy with the results? Since massive voter fraud gave us a senile puppet in the White House of course I am unhappy with the results! Watch and try to disprove the facts of Mike Lindells videos. After five years of liberal denial that Trump won the 2016 election because the Left didn't cheat hard enough people who question the results of 2020 are censored. You can falsely claim Russia stole one election but will be banned by Media claiming voter fraud in the last one.

You keep talking about "massive voter fraud".

Why is that?

This topic has, frankly, been done to death, resurrected, and done to death again since the election.

No evidence of the "massive fraud" the Qanon and conspiracy theorist half-wits continue to bleat about.

Just vague references to "Servers" (which are yet to see the inside of a Court room as evidence of any ""fraud").

Just tell it like it is.

Trump got done. Handily.

You hate that result, and cannot/will not accept it.

Therefore, the election MUST have been rigged (even though no-one has been able too present any credible evidence that it was), and so things MUST be changed, to ensure that the next time your guy runs, he is a certainty to be elected.

As someone else noted, here in Australia we have an independent body set up to run elections at arm's length from Government.

If people in the U.S are so "concerned" about voter fraud, perhaps they should be calling for the establishment of a similar body over there...

(But no, because Republican State Governors wouldn't be able to manipulate things to try and suppress voting, if an independent body ran things...would they? Roll Eyes )

Where is the evidence for Republicans manipulating and suppressing voting? You question the fraudulent, trucked-in votes, the stop-start counts, the barring of bipartisan observers, the days and days of manufacturing presidential votes but not corresponding Congressional and Senate votes  - but assert Republican manipulation and suppression in your stride. You are very obviously lopsided here.

We trust AND verify.

In some US states it's  don't trust, don't  verify. Now wanting to verify is branded racist and just a way to suppress Dem votes. So now the Dems are opening the Mexican border - the ONLY open border in the workd  in these Covid times -  to let in as many unverifiable voters as poss. Compassion, innit.

Quote:
Where is the evidence for Republicans manipulating and suppressing voting?

Evidence of suppression - such as closing voting centres, removing mail-in ballot boxes and so on has been highlighted in this forum ad nauseum. I didn't mention "manipulation".

Quote:
You question the fraudulent, trucked-in votes, the stop-start counts, the barring of bipartisan observers, the days and days of manufacturing presidential votes but not corresponding Congressional and Senate votes  - but assert Republican manipulation and suppression in your stride. You are very obviously lopsided here.

You're the one suggesting those things happened. Not me.

On the highlighted bit, is that the one which gave rise to one of the Court cases? The Court case where the judge asked something like "How many Republican observers were in the room?" and the lawyer representing Trump's people said something like "It was a non-zero number".  Roll Eyes

Again, where is the hard proof of wide-scale fraud occurring in the 2020 election?

Not "I think this happened"

Not "But someone said that this happened".

Not "But "Servers"!  Roll Eyes

They say that keeping the mind agile helps keep it "young". Which suggests (to me at least) that many of the people continuing to push the "fraudulent" 2020 election barrow will be mentally young for many years.

They'd have to be, given the mental gymnastics many seem to be going through.

I reckon I lost track of how many different places were supposed to be "in on" the conspiracy. Germany, Spain, Italy.

So many people still believe the election was "stolen", apparently. All with zero hard evidence to underpin that belief.

*shrugs*

Shocked

Either that, or you could show why these laws are required when the only thing that's changed is more

Where is the evidence for Republicans manipulating and suppressing voting? You are very obviously lopsided here.

The dummies keep putting it in legislation for everyone to see ?  The Jerrymander is obvious. Removing polling places so that republicans take 5 minutes to vote and democrats can take 12 hours in a queue ?

This isn't just guesses it is fact. As is all the other strategies. Not allowing people in a 12 hour voting queue on a hot day to have access to water ? voting Requiring voter ID but limiting it to a method that 11% of Americans do not have. i.e it means that about 11% of Americans can not vote. Purging voter rolls in Democrat voting areas.

These thing are not guesses there is concrete evidence that this is what happens. We also see things like fake contestants in elections to split the vote away from their real opponent. yes one of the Things that Gates was caught talking about setting up and other have done and gotten away with.

The Australian method is eminently sensible. Prove your identity at registration, get crossed off the register when voting showing proof of id, registers are cross checked to detects attempts of multiple voting.
Ive never ever been asked for ID when voting. In fact no one gets asked for ID, you just give them your name and address.

At least where you vote, if voting changed anything it would be illegal. Give me your name and address and I will stand in line and cast your vote for you! Just don't expect me to vote as you would.

the whole country votes like that Mort, we have amazingly  little electoral  fraud. Probably because Aussies dont like standing in line more than once. Not sure why Frank was claiming that we need ID to vote, perhaps he doesnt have the right to vote and doesnt fully understand the process.    And they give us pencils to mark our votes would you believe. Millions of Australians vote with no ID and using pencils and the system works astoundingly well, theres never been a case of someone voting twice in my living memory, and they do cross reference and check.

Incorrect, we have a system of independent scrutineers.

Who cannot be barred from observing and scrutinising the vote, like Republicans were in some electorates under the guise of 'social distancing', that is, being kept too far away to observe whether signatures of mail-in votes matched.

Remember, the last election turned on about 50-60 thousand votes in 5 states in a country of 330 million.

Except for the approximate 11% that don't.

Quote:
Claim 1: Kobach wrongly takes issue with a 2006
Brennan Center study showing 11% of American citizens do not possess government issued photo ID.

In 2006, the Brennan Center published the results of a telephone survey conducted by the Opinion Research Corporation (ORC), an independent market research firm, on the number of voting-age Americans who have government-issued photo ID and proof of citizenship.  11% of all respondents to that survey did not have ready access to government-issued photo ID; the percentages of those without ID were even higher for certain demographic groups.  Kobach summarily dismisses the hard numbers without offering any reason to doubt the Brennan Center and ORC findings, other than that he finds them “implausible.” ORC is a respected, global provider of market research, providing polling and research to  CNN, among many other partners and clients. Mr. Kobach’s intuition is not a substitute for sound research.

What is more, Kobach fails to note that the Brennan Center’s findings are consistent with every independent study we have identified before and since:

"certain demographic groups"?????

**ears prick up**

So - er ... these, um, respondents... are they...ummm.. you know .. citizens?  Or is this one of those chanting 'discrimination' things when it isn't?  Like here when Certain/Usual Suspect demographic groups constantly whine about "Oppression!!!" when they - as CITIZENS - hold every Right HERE same as everyone else?

Non-citoyennes, of course - can't vote or hold office - though they seem to work in the public service a lot... No More Dual Citizens In Government Jobs Of Any Kind!!

Not that kind of thing, is it?

Down at Ye Olde Blacke Ghetto....

"Yo, mah man - we is oppressed 'coz da school education system - it jus' don't teach us to read'n'wrat, so we's all cain' even fill out dat form!  Yo!!  Votah Ah-Dee is fo' dem WHARTE honkeys, yo' dig?  Black Man don' git no say no how!!"

YES.

The thing is that:

Quote:
Every Citizen old enough to vote has government issued identification.

Is not exactly correct.

There is a varying standard where everyone reaching that age between about 8 years ago and 15 or 20 years in some states its mostly true.

Problem is that not every voter was born after the year 2000 or so. Going back to the 40's and 50's where plenty of legitimate voters are the standards were very different across many states where things like documentation was not as it is today and influenced by colour people have birth certificates with incorrect information on them because things may have been a lot looser for coloured registration at this time.

Some of the restrictions: Do not drive, distance from issuing locality cost of supporting documentation availability of acceptable supporting information etc. It is a fact that 11% of legitimate voters do not have this voter ID that is something like 28 Million people with a huge bias to colour, personal wealth and location.

Being coloured is no free pass to voting. Still need to have evidence of right to vote.  Not an imposition. Equality before the law. Blackness is no exemption from that.

An extreme Left propaganda organization funded in large part by George Soros. The real life version of Ernst Stavro Blofeld. Look into the background and who funds these sources you rely on.

The truth is something you will not see because of your bias, there are no legal Americans without government issued identification. There is no such thing as an illegal American so there is no hindrance to voting! Find these people who live anonymously within the system.

The electoral districts with large black populations are Democrat-controlled. It is their decision to set up voting places. There is NO outside control.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/mar/02/texas-polling-sites-closures-vot...

Some counties closed enough polling locations to violate Texas state law. Brazoria county, south of Houston, closed almost 60% of its polling locations between 2012 and 2018, causing it to fall below the statutory minimum, along with another county. In a statement, Brazoria county clerk Joyce Hudman said the closures were inadvertent, and that this would not happen again in 2020.

A Guardian analysis based on that report confirms what many activists have suspected: the places where the black and Latinx population is growing by the largest numbers have experienced the vast majority of the state’s poll site closures.

Quote:
The electoral districts with large black populations are Democrat-controlled.

These districts are subject to State Legislation on voting. Republican state legislature is the level where change is being pushed. At least 240 pieces of state level legislation is currently in process involving Voting from Republican controlled states.

I am sure that there are valid points that you can argue - This is not one of them. The Republicans are working hard to rig the 2024 election as is normal for them. As you can see from the above story it has been happening for a long time.

It is an obvious fact that the Republicans cheat in every election, they don't get the vote so it is the only way that they stay competitive.

Equality, eh?

You go, girl. The people united will never be defeated, no?

The electoral districts with large black populations are Democrat-controlled. It is their decision to set up voting places. There is NO outside control.

Forty-eight states and one territory require local officials to designate polling locations.

Some counties closed enough polling locations
to violate Texas state law.

So it IS a local responsibility.

Thanks.

I was wrong - it isn't 250 pieces of legislation it is 340 all in Republican controlled states.

Your argument is meaningless.

Yes there are Democrat controlled states where it isn't happening ? This is the point you are making. It does not help your cause.

If Dem districts don't want blacks to queue for hours they can open more polling places.  That's  how whites - of ANY political persuasion- avoid long queues - they open more polling places. CAN be done and IS done. Not a race issue. A competence issue. The Democrats manipulate blacks to simmer in a perpetual resentment.

But being a duck, you wouldn't have a bar of it. Racial outrage must be pretended to cover up duck-brained incompetence.

Trump keeps claiming that the most dangerous cities in America are all run by Democrats. They aren’t.

Same article shows they ARE.

The cities with the most violent crimes are many of the most populous cities in the country, as you might expect. Those with the highest rates of violent crime are from a range of different states.

Most of the current mayors of these cities are Democrats.

YES.

The thing is that:

Yeah, Bro - but we's talkin' about respondents to a survey - how you KNOW dey citizens?  Dey says so?  Lordy, Lordy!

You do not get that the legislation is being put in place at the republican state level.

IA SF 413 (omnibus): Bill IOWA

limiting election officials’ discretion to provide ballot drop boxes

This is an example of state legislation that tells the District what they cannot do. This is the reason that your claim is garbage. The state can make the rules they can determine the numbers, the times and the places .

We can expect violent crimes in these cities to increase due to slower Police response times. People do not become Police Officers to end up in Prison so the safe thing to do is wait for the bodies to cool before responding to calls! No one wants to be the next Derek Chauvin! If you don' do anything, you can't do anything wrong, correct?

Maybe police officers become police officers in order to serve and protect. Mort seems to think that police officers who have sworn to serve and protect will treat their duties so lightly. I dont agree with your denigrating assessment of most police officers Mort. I think they will do their job as usual and I think most of them will continue to condemn Chauvins behaviour as was evident from the start.

You continue to regurgitate the statement that Democrats can simply open more polling places. This new legislation is showing that the distribution of ballot boxes in this example is being controlled in legislation at the state level. It shows that state legislation can and does override local decisions.

Note: I typed this really slowly for you.

Cheesy
You are posting things you do not comprehend. How does IA SF 413 restrict black votes?

You saw something you do not comprehend on some facebook page so you regurgitate it without any idea about what it actually is.  Duckbrain by name, duckbrain by nature. Quack on.

You continue to regurgitate the statement that Democrats can simply open more polling places. This new legislation is showing that the distribution of ballot boxes in this example is being controlled in legislation at the state level. It shows that state legislation can and does override local decisions.

Note: I typed this really slowly for you.

Determine is not restrict.

In Georgia

Twenty-one civil rights leaders and prominent black conservatives defended Georgia’s new election law in a letter to the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, rejecting opponents’ comparisons to Jim Crow laws.

“It has become clear that even well-intentioned critics of the law simply have no idea what the law is,” the black leaders write in the letter, adding:

It is clear they have no idea how favorably Georgia’s new law compares with most other states—including President Biden’s home state of Delaware. And it is clear they have no idea that a majority of black voters across the country support the key provision under attack by critics—the simple requirement that voters be able to identify themselves when voting. This is the same simple requirement needed to pick up baseball tickets or board a plane—activities hardly as important as voting.

"They have tarred with the brush of racism people whose only sin is a desire for confidence in our elections,” the black leaders’ open letter says.

Their letter takes exception to mischaracterizations of the Georgia law, which they call a “proper, honest step in reforming the election process”:

To compare today’s policy differences with the literal life and death struggle of previous generations is to diminish those heroes’ struggle, sacrifice, and enormous accomplishments. It is past time for today’s generation to come together in an honest, civil, and straightforward way to protect these shared values of voter access and election integrity. It should be easy to vote and hard to cheat.

Alleged  President-elect Joe Biden—who represented Delaware in the U.S. Senate for 36 years—recently referred to the Georgia law as “Jim Crow in the 21st century.”  Bidden is Bbwianesque.

Give me the simple answer to how anyone's vote is being suppressed!

This a very stupid argument.

You need id when
You go to the doctor, get on a plane, prove your vax status for all sorts of reason - but proving your eligibility to vote is all about corrupting the result of an election.
Idiotic.

It isn't the people that want to vote that are crying voter suppression because they all have government issued identification. It is the liberal democrats that stuff the ballot boxes to negate the will of the people! If the other side honestly  out votes me I don't have to like it but I can accept it.

What do you think of a county with a large black population that closes every single polling station except one?

What do you think of lines of 4-6-8 hours to vote? Do you think that happens organically or could it have been possibly engineered?

There are lots of "little" things that prevent people from voting and today people are so enamored of convenience that it doesn't take much to make them stay home and watch Netflix and have dinner delivered.

Are you suggesting that only people inclined to vote democrat are the ones to not vote because it is too inconvenient? We vote early on a morning of our choice when the lines are short, easy solution to the problem.

No, I am not suggesting that at all. You are.

You might want to consider that not all areas have long, long lines, and those that do have been engineered to be that way, if only indirectly. Have you ever witnessed voting in another country? I have and the lines were not hours-long. America could have the most secure and efficient voting system in the entire world but it does not. Why?

If you didn't feel a certain group was discouraged from voting it wouldn't be an issue to you. Where I live early voting is available at several locations, on election day voters are restricted to their assigned polling locations.

Amazing that anyone would consider that producing ID was a requirement for voting - was 'racist'.

I produced my drivers licence to vote.... pretty clear ID unless you consider that I had a passport and a birth certificate stolen... it's a long story...

USA is a farce of a nation.

Australia should be distancing itself from being infected with such blatant corruption.
We must 'Hold Fast' to the British Politics against this USA storm approaching.

Alas, many Australians see otherwise and are anti-British 'political' influence and rather see this 51st State of the USA's 'Media' mafia-politics take control here.

The Governor-General must slay the Prime Minister.
There can be only 'one'.
