Black Lives Also Matter

It's global now and there's nothing you can do about it. But it doesn't mean much in Ethiopia it would seem - probably it should

Of course it doesn't mean much in Ethiopia. Neither the cause nor the conflict is the same.

Black Lives (Also) Matter is meaningless if you're all the same colour and ethnicity... Is that so hard to comprehend?

BLAM - Black Lives Also Matter or BLAM???

Sounds good if confrontational... but the Blemish would never be that, would they?

Should've started off as Black Lives Also Matter then, instead of alienating 95% of the community with violence and mindless rhetoric.

All Lives Matter - ALMs for the poor ghetto dweller...

I'd bet they wanted a rhetorically punchy TLA.

You're bordering on being racist there. It can't be left entirely up to whitie to sort out blacks' problems. As hard as whitie tries, not much seems to work. But the blacks in the US have it much better than the Ethiopians

It's very obvious that BLM is meaningless to Ethiopians - they have some learning to do

You don't need to go back 30 years...look at Ethiopia.

Both Rwanda and Ethiopia are basically near first-world status. Because they have warfare going on in their countries does not mean that it is bad all over. Look at the United States of America, for example. They go on killing sprees every week and have a higher murder rate than the deaths in Australia's road toll.

I guess the Dunning-Kruger effect strikes again.

BLM is a TLA that refers to a specific issue; not the having of dark skin in itself, but refers to the movement initiated in response to US police brutality against African-Americans; the proponents of the movement claiming that US police dealing with African-Americans is disproportionately harsh relative to police dealings with other races.

It does not refer to any Ethiopian conflict... Which is not to say, however, that the lives lost in the Ethiopian conflict do not matter.

Now that actually is a racist comment...

Do they take tea during the break? Or maybe a cognac? Or vodka, maybe?

oh theres me thinking you are taking this seriously....excuse me!

Aww, come on... This hardly a serious thread. A conflation of an Ethiopian conflict with the experience of African-Americans???

for you it may be a joke   not to me...

what he is saying is...

is it only black Americans that matter?????

because it appears so..

You should find out what the BLM protests were about before you embarrass yourself further

Yes, seriously. The turnaround in Ethiopia has been remarkable. There is a much higher standard of living in Ethiopia from the days in the 1980s when economic mismanagement kept the Ethiopians in third world conditions. Rwanda is alleged to be doing much better compared to 25 years ago.

It is places like Zimbabwe and Somalia that are the no-go zones and basketcase economies. They may as well abandon those places and let the animals roam uncontested for a few years and then come back with a plan. Or just join a neighbouring country.

Correct.
You don't need to go back 30 years...look at Australia and imprisoned Aborigines.
