Despising the Right, the Left for that matter, is not going to get anyone anywhere. Its a feeble attempt to reassure oneself about political forthrightness, which is absolute twaddle.
In the past, due to lack of scrutiny, it was possible to create an aura of statesmanship around parties and politicians.

The reason anyone goes into politics is because they would rather make the rules than have them made for them by others. The notion that they wish to serve their country is more twaddle. If they were so concerned they would enter schooling, hospitals, military or the public service etc.

Its about control, not service, so lets not kid ourselves. What we have to do is examine policy in a none partisan way. The problem is that information is controlled by partisan media. Most of what comes from the ABC is filtered through the sympathies of their staff. Likewise, the Australian etc.

You have to do your homework. Truth or good policy are not handed out for their own sake, and they don't come in a pure form from one source.
