How the world turns. I recall the screeching right on here when Craig Thompson was in the news. Barely a day went by without the loud protestations and THOMMO blasted out in every thread. Quite rightly, Labor refused to accept his vote in parliamentary decisions and he left the scene. Now, for purely political reasons, Morrison and his Cronies leave this stained example of a man in their party because they go to minority government if he is fired. If they held a majority, he would be out the door in an instant. I look forward to the screeches of LAMING but won’t hold my breath. What horrendous, corrupt and deviant government we have here
how about a bit of honesty there VIC... thomo was allowed to remain in Parliament and vote...for over 12 months....he had gillards full support down to the fact she even allowed him to cry all over parliament house with a bunch of lies...
do you seriously expect any govt to leave themselves in a precarious position???????.....get real you sound such a pompous twat! havent seen any ALDI bags since shortarse took a tumble.
Yeah Cods, how about a bit of honesty. Craig Thomson committed his dealings OUTSIDE of Parliament. When it blew up in April 2012 Thomson asked to be suspended from the Labor Party after a discussion with the then Prime Minister, Julia Gillard, and announced his intention to sit on the crossbench as an independent member of parliament. In a statement to the House on 21 May 2012, Thomson professed his innocence and used parliamentary privilege to name a number of individuals and claim that he was set up.
So, his vote wasn't dependant and wasn't used. You get your facts right Love, once again you use your well honed powers of abuse to dodge the fact that you support a Government that is comprised of sleaze bags. As for your statement "do you seriously expect any govt to leave themselves in a precarious position" it appears from that statement you condone their behaviour just because they are Liberal.
What a sad creature you are. As for Aldi Bags, that is rich - the Chinese bought the Liberal party years ago, all it took were a few watches, a couple of bags of money and the "Julie Bishop Glorious Foundation" But, you keep voting for them anyway Love, sounds like you are in good hands, just watch out for the ones with cameras when you bend over
you are so rude... perhaps this will stick in your craw..
Prime Minister Julia Gillard has been again forced to defend Labor backbencher Craig Thomson, amid new allegations which appear to cast doubt on his denial that he used his union credit card to pay for prostitutes.Mr Thomson has admitted authorising the payment to an escort service in 2005 - but has said another man used the card and forged his signature.
At the time, phone calls to the escort agency were made from Mr Thomson's mobile phone, but he has denied all allegations that he visited prostitutes.
Now, court documents published by the Sydney Morning Herald have revealed the mobile phone used to call the escort agency was also used to call political and union contacts within the ALP on the same day, April 7, 2005.
The NSW Supreme Court documents also show Mr Thomson's card was used to pay $2,475 to an escort agency on April 8.
The documents appear to contradict Mr Thomson's contention that someone else had used his credit card and, by implication, the mobile phone. The NSW Labor Party has paid a reported $90,000 to help pay Mr Thomson's legal expenses for a defamation action he took against Fairfax newspapers - money that the Opposition says prevented Mr Thomson being declared bankrupt and losing his central coast seat of Dobell.A by-election would be likely to cost the Government their slim majority in Parliament.Yesterday in Parliament the Opposition's finance spokesman, Andrew Robb, ramped up the attack on Mr Thomson, saying the Government's support for Mr Thomson was "sickening".
"
Look at the evidence that comes out daily. Look at what we saw today from Fairfax – that he has lied; that he is a thief. Yet the Prime Minister stands up here daily and supports it," Mr Robb said. This morning on AM, Ms Gillard deflected questions about why Labor had paid the legal fees, saying it's a "question for the New South Wales branch of the Labor Party".
"Decisions by the New South Wales branch of the Labor Party are their decisions."
And she tried to turn the pressure back on the Opposition, describing its position as "hypocrisy" and referring to a shoplifting charge being faced by Liberal Senator Mary Jo Fisher.
"There is only one member of Parliament who's been charged with a criminal offence - it's not a member of my team."
Ms Gillard conceded she has talked to Mr Thomson about the allegations, but again deflected questions saying she wants to wait until an investigation by Fair Work Australia is complete.
"
In the meantime, the member for Dobell is doing his job as a local member in this Parliament." Meanwhile, NSW police say they will not be investigating the matter unless they
