And what sort of action would that be Bobby?  Roll Eyes  This is a minor hiccup and Australia will be producing ample vaccine soon enough.

But what if it's only the start of sanctions against us?
They could also block the ingredients we need to make the vaccine here.
This is not a good sign -
it's a force majeure.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Force_majeure
Force majeure,  is a common clause in contracts which essentially frees both parties from liability or obligation when an extraordinary event or circumstance beyond the control of the parties, such as a war, strike, riot, crime, epidemic or an event described by the legal term act of God, prevents one or both parties from fulfilling their obligations under the contract.

Vaccines do not have 'ingredients' Bobby..... Roll Eyes

Well tell us what they have then.
C'mon.

Sounds perfectly reasonable. We do not "need" it. Other countries being vaccinated is a good thing. We may be able to open our borders to fully vacced people.

Priorities. When you do the right thing by proper hygiene practices and succeed in containing a virus, there is no need for other countries with higher rates of the virus to give up their share of a vaccine.

My problem is the Italians played down the virus and allowed their population to be a petri dish for Corona whilst Australia locked down and took the pandemic seriously....You reap what you sow and Australia are victims of our own success???

Huh Huh Huh

Italy and the EU have millions of doses of AZ vaccine in stockpile already. These doses will not assist in increasing vaccination rates in Italy, they will not help Italians. It is a cynical ploy to divert from their failure to a) manage the virus b) roll out the vaccine quickly. The UK has done an awesome job of getting the virus , Italy and the EU have been very slow.

No great loss to us, but appalling and petty action by the Italian government.

CSL Behring is making it at Broadie plant.
Seqirus (used to be bioCSL) is putting it into vials at Parkville.
