Daniel Andrews continues to ‘play to people’s fear and emotion’:

Matthew Guy

Former Victorian opposition leader Matthew Guy has slammed Premier Daniel Andrews for “playing to people’s fear and emotion” after the government passed its state of emergency extension.

The state of emergency powers gives the Victorian government the ability to lockdown the state in response to the coronavirus, and provides the legal tool to impose restrictions such as curfews and stay-at-home orders.

The bill passed the Victorian upper house on Tuesday after the government successfully negotiated with the crossbench including the Greens, the Reason Party, and Animal Justice.

Mr Guy said it is “quite astounding” the Andrews government thinks it’s necessary to still have state of emergency legislation in operation until December.

He said the government has justified this move by speaking “in emotion” and claiming the legislation aims to keep Victorians safe.

“Andrews will always talk in emotion, that’s how he justifies all of his arguments, all of his cost blow outs, all of his lockdowns, it’s all about his emotion, playing to people’s fear and emotion.”

So who would you have as Premier of the Sport State/Gamblers Anonymous, Bobby, if not Dan the Man?
Maybe your choices are slim?

This extension of emergency powers is disturbing. Why, when the virus is being brought under control, does he need these powers for another 9 months?

Dan enjoyed the power so much he can't let it go.

Does Victoria also have some sort of contact tracing app for smartphones or a pencil and paper register for just about every single place (businesses, shops, etc.) you go to these days?

We've had it here in WA since about mid to late last year - it was sort of voluntary to start with but it has now become compulsory in the last couple of months with big fines for individuals and businesses not complying if they're caught.

Mind you, after reading a story in our newspaper about a week ago it seems that a lot of businesses and people are still either delilberately or inadvertently ignoring it.

A letter writer in the paper last week wanted to know why this is still being enforced when there are no known cases of COVID-19 here in Perth (and WA) at the moment and the writer suggested that the population is slowly being conditioned to accept this tracking of everywhere they go as the 'new normal'.

Hmm, tracking of the population and a cashless society (since there's still quite a few businesses that won't accept cash and they seem to be slowly increasing). Sounds like a government's wet dream. 1984, here we come... even if we're a little late.

he may have to drop an atom bomb on melbourne to kill the last viral particle, but "so be it".

this is total war.

a society where someone may have to blow their nose is not a society worth living in.

if the victorian people are not up to defeating the scourge of bolscheivism (sorry runny noses), then it is better that they be cleansed by fire .

here is a picture of one of dans public housing buildings after it has been "cleansed"

Given vaccinations havent really kicked in, this extension seems sensible and reasonable.

Dan could have asked for emergency powers
if a situation developed which required them.
Notice above that advice Dan received has been kept secret from everyone.
WHY ?
