Their genes, even though we control the selection process are continued and we are controlling the survival of the species. They do very well in terms of propagating their genes and not going extinct.

Some dogs and cats will go feral, cows, sheep etc will die as bores stop being pumped. But yes, dogs, cats and farm and draught animals have done well because of us.

Reply #20 - Mar 5^th, 2021 at 3:57pm On my, I have to say, rather superior forum, someone suggested boa constrictors in Florida (I should have remembered those!) and wild boars/sows. We have the same problem here, feral pigs would run riot if we ever disappeared! Here camels are running riot and harming lots of very arid ecosystems!

Reply #23 - May 15^th, 2021 at 4:26am Looks like the neighbours' cat had puked up some of the rats that had previously been running around under the house. Found the puke in the side yard. Same type of puke that was left on my front steps last year.
