This frickin' coronavirus shite might be a big concern for the elderly and those with compromised immunity. But, for the rest of us, the virus has been nothing but a hassle for being social, and monotony of repetitive information from the media.

Give the elderly and compromised immunity patients the vaccination for covid. Then leave it for the rest of us to make our own decisions.
I hate to break it to you but the obese and diabetics have "compromised" immunity. Fairly sure that includes you.

Indeed it does.

In several ways in terms of diabetes mellitus. The vascular changes mean less blood flow to deliver WBCs etc to sites of injury/infection. WBC numbers are reduced, and WBC antigen recognition sites are lower in number.

I agree bobby.

With so much obvious lies and deception in the MSM, and coming out of the lips of our political leaders,
it is patently FOOLISH, to not be skeptical, about what we are being told.

This looks promising ...   Cool

Oxford coronavirus vaccine shows sustained protection of 76% during the 3-month interval until the second dose

RESEARCHCORONAVIRUSCOVID-19 VACCINE

Analyses reveal single standard dose efficacy from day 22 to day 90 post vaccination of 76% with protection not falling in this three-month period

After the second dose vaccine efficacy from two standard doses is 82.4% with the 3-month interval being used in the UK. (82.4% effective, with a 95% confidence interval of 62.7% - 91.7% at 12+ weeks)

Data supports the 4-12 week prime-boost dosing interval recommended by many global regulators

Analyses of PCR positive swabs in UK population suggests vaccine may have substantial effect on transmission of the virus with 67% reduction in positive swabs among those vaccinated.

Im not in any hurry, like any new technology I let others embrace it first and take all the risk. Until not being vaccinated stops me from doing stuff Im not going to worry about it. But it is apparent there are some issues with these vaccines and in my opinion they have been too rushed to be properly evaluated.

I expressed the same concern to same to someone who works in medical testing ( a laboratory technician) and she told me that the development and testing of these vaccines has followed the standard protocol for all such vaccines and no corners have been cut safety wise.

What has been cut is the massive red tape normally surrounding the development of new medicines, funding has been immediate and plentiful, almost all other research and development has been put on hold and various organisations are co operating in ways never seen before in vaccine development.

This is what has enabled the vaccine to become available in record time, not shortcuts in testing.

I honestly dont know how many times I've said that, the actual testing phases haven't been rushed, its the periods in between wherew you review the data send to the TGA for review and get permission to go onto the next phase

A number of vaccines are being distributed which havent been tested at all. And we are to believe that miraculously the process of approval which took sometimes decades  was all due to red tape which the government has been able to clear overnight. There are a number of well respected medical professionals publically stating the vaccines have been rushed without adequate testing.

And yes, because this is a global crisis that governments want solved ASAP.

Which ones?

heres one to start with
Quote:
No idea, says Dr Gagandeep Kang, one of India's best-known vaccine experts. "Either you are doing a clinical trial or not". Clinical trials - a three-phased process - determine whether the vaccine induces good immune responses and whether it causes any unacceptable side-effects.

On Sunday, India's drug regulator gave emergency approval of a locally produced coronavirus vaccine, called Covaxin, before the completion of trials. The government-backed vaccine has been developed by Bharat Biotech, a 24-year-old vaccine maker, which has a portfolio of 16 vaccines and exports to 123 countries.

The regulator said the vaccine had been approved for "restricted use in emergency situation in public interest as an abundant precaution, in clinical trial mode, especially in the context of infection by mutant strains". (The regulator also approved the global AstraZeneca Oxford jab, which is also being produced in India.)

This, despite the fact that the key third phase of Covaxin's clinical trials - the vaccine is given to thousands of people and tested for efficacy and safety - was underway.
