Italy - biggest mafia trial in decades.

'Ndrangheta group:
Italy braces for biggest mafia trial in decades

Published

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-55633091

Hundreds of alleged members of Italy's most powerful mafia group are set to face justice in the country's biggest organised crime trial in decades.

The 355 suspected mobsters

and corrupt officials were charged following a long inquiry into the 'Ndrangheta group.

More than 900 witnesses are expected to give evidence, and the charge sheet includes:
murder, drug trafficking, extortion and money laundering.

The trial begins on Wednesday and is expected to last more than two years.

It will take place in a specially modified building in the southern region of Calabria, which is at the heart of 'Ndrangheta territory.

The building, formerly a call centre in the town of in Lamezia Terme, has been converted into a fortified courtroom to make space for the hundreds of people likely to attend the proceedings. No mafia trial has been held in Italy on such a scale since the 1980s.

That place is where the regional airport is so I'd say there's a bit of everything there.

And if you think there are no criminals in Melbourne you're even dumber than I gave you credit for ... and I give you heaps of credit in the dumb department.

The Mafia and it’s offshoots don’t have an exclusive licence to murder, drug trafficking and money luandering in Melbourne. Some of those crimes have actually taken place inside the old Russell St, Police Club/dining room.

Probably not as many as there were before they intalled surveyance equipment in the police club. Either that or they’re getting more discreet.

The cops in Melbourne were always corrupt.
I remember back in 1980 -
there was an illegal casino in Russel street just a few hundred meters
down the road from the largest cop station.

The cops could look out the window and see the lines of taxis etc outside it - a circus.
Every taxi driver in Melbourne knew where
that casino was but the cops didn't know.

Not much earlier a fight broke out between branches of the vice and other squads ‘policing’ the thriving underground abortion racket. It was a turf war between the freemason branch of the Vic police and the catholic branch. The real obscenity was the catholic branch were gleefully taking huge bribes from backyard abortionists as protection. Dr Bertram Wainer was a pro-abortion campaigner who set up a political party, The Progressive Reform Party. He was approached by a group of waterside workers who warned him the police had attempted to contract them to ‘remove’ him. They refused the police offer but later that week, as Wainer and I were getting out of his car under his block of flats in St Kilda, we were shot at. They missed. Intentionally or by accident we never learnt.

Out here they buy their politicians or they simply take Oz citizenship and stand for election with the connivance of their bought politicians.  Told yez already about the WOGs and their native cunning and love of your money and the easy way ... make that Outlanders and you've got it.

WTF do they actually OFFER to this country when we elect them on behalf of their party, bought and paid for, and then pay them for life out of our pocket?

Same happens with the CCP, BTW..... five farken minutes in the country and onto the gravy train for life out of YOUR pocket....and selling you out to their mates back HOME.... paid by you to f^ck you over, you dorks!!

WTF is wrong with you people?

Barilaro - Brumby Mass Killer and Promoter Of Development Over Koala Habitats When the Koalas Are in Serious Trouble After The Bushfires.

Orkopoulos - Serial Abuser Of Those In the Care Of His Portfolio.

Gladys - so many Gladysgates by now it's become a joke.

Keep looking at the Outlanders we've set up for life and beyond - ask yourself WHY they ever got into office when they know f^ck all about Australia and its ways.

Remember the origins of the Mafia.... as a group of concerned citizens who were being mightily oppressed by the 'lords' (self-appointed), including Crusaders who grabbed whatever they could for their personal fiefdoms and exercised absolute rights over everything, including wives and daughters etc.

Obviously the 'laws' were set up to favour the ruling (self-appointed) elite and their chosen ones
(how little things change in hundreds of years despite 'legislations' and 'equal rights for all')
, and justice was a mockery
(repeat last bracket)
- ergo - concerned citizens of good will organised secretly to exact justice for wrongdoing.

You saw vestiges of that in the Godfather series... when justice could not be obtained through the official channels - who ya gonna call?

Don Corleone - protector of the poor and powerless..... interestingly Corleone means LionHeart...

Of course, over time - the power inherent in becoming a force to be reckoned with within the land went to the heads of the Mafia... and as in all situations of power, it corrupted them and diverted them from the original purpose of protecting the common folk.

Selah!!

St George?

It could be argued, given the propensity of power to corrupt, that the contest between the government and Mafia is a conflict of corruptions... good name for a book that.

Selah!!

They will never stamp them out.
The mafia has 100 more men for every man they jail.
