Yes, they have revealed publically, one shot, in the chest and bullet fragmented. The police have zero clues as to the perpetrator.

So they have the bullet and fragments, what round?

They havent said, Im interested in the bullet fragmentation and whether that means a dum dum was used.

A dumdum is irrelevant when we can buy soft nosed hunting rounds. They do the same thing. The dumdum thing is something you would do to FMJ ball. Cut the copper at the tip in a cross to make it expand and fragment like a hunting round.

Not necessarily. Hand loads can cause fragmentation if overloaded.

Im aware of that.

I use the therm dum dum genericaly. What Im saying is that the intent was to do the job with one round. It wasnt a case of "oh, shot him dead with the first, no need to fire anymore", so my guess is whichever actual round was used it was one that was supposed to fragment to get the job done with one shot. Why not a head shot either? Why in the chest.

Pretty much...

Why the body shot? Not a chance in hell of missing if he nodded or something similar, go with the greatest chance of the kill, use the right round and hit him in the chest.

or 270wsm or 7mm rifles.

I have shot out to 1000 yards with a .303. Peep sights not ramp.

I've full bore range shot 7.62 to 1000y with peep sights. You know the "rifle range road" every NSW town seems to have.

The drop at 1000 yards is 33 feet for .308 round !

I'm sure that some people can.
Anyway - this murder occurred at 300 meters range.
The drop is only about 1.5  feet at that range.
The shooter might have already pre sighted in his rifle
using a scope at the correct 300 meter range
by doing that somewhere else?

yeah, I think so too. This was an extremely professional hit. Well thought out, researched , planned and executed without a hitch. The "hitman" could be a 65 year old granny for all we know, I dont think they will be found.

Bobby, Bobby, Bobby, it's not a murder, it's an execution, the kind of execution Gregg likes.

Of course they know. They have the bullet fragments. They are releasing some but not much information. But actions tell their line of enquiry. Interpol alert, checking international  flight information.
