before the Chinese do in bulk like the baby formula.

It goes to show how much these fishermen make in a haul of our seafood selling out to China.

They don't haul/trawl for crayfish

they are potted - it's labour intensive but there's no way they are worth what they have been getting in export prices to places like China & Japan.

Anyways who knows where this stuff is sourced.

West Australian Rock Lobster(still crayfish) are a much smaller commercial variety

I'd prefer the stuff you see coming out of Tasmania ......

much larger specimens.

I think the Coles crays are from WA.

The prized southern rock lobster caught in SA is being sold through Drake supermarkets there at $75 per kilo instead of the normal rrp of $125kg that's 50 bux off! and will be my first choice, i might grab a a couple of the $20 specimens as well and indulge, its a rare opportunity.

Granddad took us down to Keppel Sands to where the oysters grew on the rocks at the beach --where else? I do not know if it was a healthy thing to do but he would get the oysters straight from the rocks and eat them there. I had to decline his offer of having one of the oysters as I was still trying to get over my grandfather eating what looked like snot.

But, 20 years later, I would be early enough to the grocery shopping to purchase a dozen of them for $18. Are you sure that you are getting quality crayfish off the beach?

Are these rock lobsters they're selling related to the rock spiders over in WA?  I always thought the rules were different and smaller lobsters were being taken over there - didn't realise they are a different size.

Do you need a licence to pot them here?  Our local lads are crazy - I've seen 'em going out in big waves in a 10ft tinny to check their lobster pots - three blokes in the boat.

They are rock lobsters from WA.

3 men in a 10ft tinny going out to check their pots in big waves for the southern rock lobster would be an acceptable risk for this succulent crustacean.
