Reducing the road toll
Sad but preventable crash and deaths
Car somehow got bogged in muddy center strip on Pacific Highway near Kangy Angy, then a four wheel drive lost control in slippery conditions and slammed into the bogged car, killing father and son in that car
https://www.9news.com.au/national/two-men-die-after-two-car-crash-on-the-new-sou...It could have been prevented if the driver of the 4wheel drive had slowed for the wet road. I've driven on that highway many times and my speed compared to everyone elses' made me look like I was standing still. I usually travel in the far left lane and just watch the "Sterling Mosses", male and female, young and old, flash past like there's no tomorrow
Drizzling rain mixes with dust and pollution on the road surface and acts like a lubricant leaving tires with little or no grip on the road depending on the depth of the tread remaining on the tires. Sometimes applying the brakes can make things worse, causing "aquaplaning", the car just skids on the water. I had that experience when I was a teenager, quite scary!
