Good luck with that idea. China’s head thug is a close personal friend of the woman who heads a body (forgotten it’s name)promoting the sale of ‘warm meat’. Even if it’s true the Chinese genetically engineered a dangerous virus found in wild animals the continued sale of ‘warm meat’ in China’s markets will unleash another plague on the world. This is only the beginning. Those who imagine wide distribution of a Covid 19 vaccination will solve the problem don’t understand this little germ is only one of many just waiting in the wild to take a ride on homo sapiens.

Already a foothold in Darwin thanks to that Labor sellout, then Dan's roads deal down south - connect the dots with a super highway and super rail. One of the past defences of Oz was that anyone landing on the north coast had a huge desert to cross - once the road and rail are built it can be done with ease while our 6-7 available fighter-bombers harass them...

an issue at the United Nations about China.
We need a speech and calls for action.

the average chap in western society is now fully conditioned to being a
'consumer'

its hard to produce, it requires effort, sweat, real resources, discipline,

to be a producer , you have to "embrace pain'
you have to "love it when its hard"

thats just not the mindset in the west anymore.

people just want to follow the path of least resistance

dont get me wrong.
they still want that pair of Nike Joggers.

they just dont want to have to make them

western governments have discovered that they can only get elected by "pandering" to these "entitled consumers".

you see it everywhere.

every single problem is now laid at the feet of some authority figure.

australia or the USA circa 1900 would have had a government position of
"solve your own bloody problems".

but 120 years later, the vast majority of people are completely stuck in
"learned helplessness"
and "infantalisation".

in all seriousness, if you dont trade with china and people dont have access to the goods of the consumer society, the vast majority of people will turn into little crybabies.

you are quite right that we shouldnt be totally reliant on china.

but it will be politically impossible to wean society off chinese goods.

the chinese know this

so we will be continuing to be tied to them til we develop a work ethic.

that would seem unlikely to ever happen.

The rest of what you say is true of many but not all of us in the West. I ceased knowingly buying Chinese goods several years ago. In many instances this has saved me money. I went through three Chinese whipper snippers in two years - absolute junk. The German one I replaced them with at double the price is still going strong many years later and it’s a far, far more ergonomically sane device to use.

It may take some form of rash military action (the invasion of Formosa?) by the Chinese before the rest of the world wakes up to the monster they’ve been feeding. The problem is such a conflict could easily trigger a nuclear war. If Russia was silly enough to join in there’d be no-body left alive other than cockroaches.
We are an insane species.
