Yes they are children of god, so they must be treated according to their own personal desires, such as self-removing from the gene pool instead of being given free tickets into it without putting in the proper work between the sheets.

It looks like there are at least some, in the Vatican, who know what a Christian Holy bible is.

And even more importantly, some of these persons seem to know what the HOLY scriptures' teaching states, on the matter of same sex relationships among those who regard themselves as part of 'God's family'.

The Holy bible declares that it is, the WORD of God.

There are many in this age, who do not regard the bible as anything more, than a collection of old writings.

Too many Christians nowadays are "cafeteria Christians" picking and choosing what to follow in the bible and what to ignore.

The bible mentions the sin of homosexuality around 6 times and the sin of eating shellfish a good 11 or more times.

God hates faggots but not as much as a prawn cocktail.

The 4 gospels in New Testament are oddly quiet on the issue of homosexuality. Which is to be expected if you spend all your time alone with 12 men....

However Jesus does say one thing which may be a reference to homosexuality

Matthew 19 talks about marriage

Matthew 19:11 But He said to them,

“Not all men can accept this statement, but only those to whom it has been given."

Matthew 19:12

"For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it."

Eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men is pretty self explanatory

Eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs are men who foreswear marriage to better serve God.

But eunuchs born from their mother's womb is an interesting turn of phrase. During the time of Jesus the term "born a eunuch" was a term to describe "effeminate" men, commonly associated with homosexual desire. It was a widely used term and Jesus would have been familiar with it's meaning.

He lists people born gay alongside another honoured class (eunuchs for the kingdom), and accepts them as a natural part of God’s creation order.

Jesus teaches that most people are created for heterosexual marriage. But he does not see this as the only honourable way to live. He acknowledges that some human beings have been created by God to follow a less common, but equally legitimate path. There are some who have been eunuchs from birth — made that way by God.

The Pope is correct in that everyone is a child of God, depending on what you mean by God. As it is not demonstrable, that could be just about anything you see in your mind.

Should homosexuals and various sexual deviants be persecuted? Absolutely not. They have their cross to bear, just like the rest of us. Are they, as contemporary psychologists suggest, simply a range of colours in a spectrum of Human Sexuality and Gender. Not in my experience, some of whom are seriously disturbed. Still others will do just about anything that comes up to body temperature.

God gave dietary laws, because he wanted HIS PEOPLE to learn a practical way to maintain good health.

And in his moral laws, God told his people that a man should not be in a sexual relationship with another man, because that, WAS AN ABOMINATION TO HIM.

n.b.
If his people broke their dietary laws, they may become ill.

If his people broke their moral laws, THEIR GOD WOULD CURSE THEM, AND SCATTER THEM AMONG THE GENTILES !
