I don't dismiss such interpretations of life by Humanity - manifesting in Horoscopes, Tarots, Ouji and all that.
I love watching the odd Doco that through 'Science' a lot has been 'translated' into a more accurate understanding of circumstance in these 'modern' times. A lot is more about 'entertainment' value, more than the search for truth... just like the Author who capitalised on the Bermuda Triangle and added 'mystery' to it that made it a best seller.
The irony is that although Science can explain why the dead's fingernails keep growing, whereas the older interpretation was of the corpse becoming 'undead'.
I think its arrogant and obnoxious of Science to dismiss all this stuff with absolutism. Afterall, where was Science back then? Did it need Religion to start its fire?
To dismiss such stuff that we have come to associate with former 'divine' Member It_is_the_Light - in absolutism is like Science being the life account of 'In the Heart of the Sea' and dismissing the 'fictional' account in what is deemed America's Greatest Novel... Moby Dick.
A Scientist would say the Earth is NOT the center of the Universe and the Scientist would be right.
A Spiritualist would say the Earth IS the center of OUR universe and the Spiritualist would also be right.
There can be more than just 'one' right answer ...kinda like thinking with both sides of your brain.
From my own experience, I've 'experienced' some incredibly strange associations to some very unexplainable occurances. I ain't going to go into detail. But it's definately stuff even Science would find hard to explain.
Things like Tarot came from the 'Artistic' people who live a life more through 'visualisation' - like a Catholic compared to a more 'political' Protestant. It served many purposes, from cheap entertainment, Artistic endeavour and even an early 'visual' form of Psychology in regards to 'advice' and 'confession' like a Religion would.
A lot also comes from that 6th sense (I reckon there is more) and deja-vu.
A lot of Science has found much success in its association with such stuff - even Science has learned a lot.
Guy survives a car accident as one onlooker says
"Buy a Lottery Ticket." So a few days after leaving hospital he buys a Lottery Ticket. He wins big time!
Coincidence - yes. But interesting how 'coincidence' works isn't it?
Evolution and Creationism are 'both right'.
I think some of you need to be a bit more ambidextrous with both hemisphere's of your brains.
So if you can't read and value both In the Heart of the Sea and Moby Dick - both of the same circumstance...
