About masks...
Sep 23rd, 2020 at 5:05pm

So we have this mandatory wearing of masks in Victoria, and that’s fine by me... I don’t mind.... even when it’s not mandatory any more... I will still wear one in public voluntarily. In the past, I used to see many Asians wearing masks and thought it odd... but now I think they were clever!
I have sewn quite a few fashionable and cheery masks of late, and gave some away as presents.
My concern is this, that has come to my attention recently...surely not?
Nurses and doctors have to wear them everyday for hours on end, and during surgery.
So what do we make of this picture/statement?

There's bacteria on everything. Swab it and grow it and it looks grose.

Masks protect other people, not the wearer of the mask.

that's exactly why they wear the mask. ... would you prefer that bacteria on the nurses mask? or would you prefer they spread it all over you when they're operating or tending to you?

That's right.

Amazing how many people still don't understand, or appreciate that.

This is why I do not allow anybody to enter my house without a mask!  I have other health issues so have to be very careful. I am not worried about CoVid, at all.

I actually douibt that picture is a real piucture of the inside of a mask from a doctor.

First of all, we really don't breathe out fungi and I know from experience using those agar plates that the majority of that is fungi. Theres a couple of bacteria on there sure, but the pooint with agar plates is that each colony started from one cell.

All of those fuzzy colonies are fungi. This l;ooks more lioke a plate that has had the lid removed and just been exposed to air

This reminded me of a science experiment us students were sent out to do, each with a Petri dish, to see where there were more bacteria etc

Some were outdoors, some stayed in the class room, some in the staff room, mine was the passage/hall ways, when everyone came out to exchange class rooms, attend to their lockers, or go to recess break.

Guess who collected the most. My little dish did!
So that explains a lot.. where there are indoor crowded areas anywhere in life, the bugs, bacterium, are at its highest collective point. Think crowded trains, supermarkets and shopping areas, etc
Hence masks are a staple with me from now on!

Bugs are everywhere - in every breath you take -
you breathe in millions of them -
mostly viruses in the air
but also fungus and bacteria.
