I actually douibt that picture is a real piucture of the inside of a mask from a doctor.
First of all, we really don't breathe out fungi and I know from experience using those agar plates that the majority of that is fungi. Theres a couple of bacteria on there sure, but the pooint with agar plates is that each colony started from one cell.
All of those fuzzy colonies are fungi. This l;ooks more lioke a plate that has had the lid removed and just been exposed to air
This reminded me of a science experiment us students were sent out to do, each with a Petri dish, to see where there were more bacteria etc
Some were outdoors, some stayed in the class room, some in the staff room, mine was the passage/hall ways, when everyone came out to exchange class rooms, attend to their lockers, or go to recess break.
Guess who collected the most. My little dish did!
So that explains a lot.. where there are indoor crowded areas anywhere in life, the bugs, bacterium, are at its highest collective point. Think crowded trains, supermarkets and shopping areas, etc
Hence masks are a staple with me from now on!
