From the ABC article:
Quote:Some local community leaders expressed concern the remarks targeted the Afghan community, and warned the comments may make some community members feel "ashamed".
Surely feeling a sense of shame at breaking the rules and killing people in the process is a good thing.
Not so.
Not in moslem culture, not in Arab culture, not in ISLAMIC culture.
SHAME CULTURE VERSUS HONOUR CULTURE
Western culture emphasises the [moral] importance of feeling shame, for wrongdoing.
Western culture emphasises the [moral] importance of accepting personal responsibility.
ISLAMIC culture, does not.
ISLAMIC culture, emphasises the importance ....OF HIDING PERSONAL SHAME.

our Western society is superior because it is willing to scrutinise itself, and when necessary, it is willing to be self-critical of shameful aspects of the conduct of some among us.
.....well,
that was a predominate aspect of our Western culture [i.e. a willingness to acknowledge 'uncomfortable' truths], before the influence of the 'blinkered' PC brigade!
[in ISLAMIC culture]....exposure is often shameful, and can destroy a persons/family's honour.
Whereas, if you can successfully
hide the persistent, and bad conduct of yourself or a family member,
your honour and the honour of your family/society remains 'intact'.WWW search;
shame culture versus honour culture, the arab psyche
Moslems like to believe that they have an 'invisibility cloak' [called 'ISLAM'] which hides all of their wrongdoings.
"Ye [
moslems] are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind,
enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in Allah. If only the People of the Book had faith, it were best for them: among them are some who have faith, but most of them are perverted transgressors."
Koran 3.110
Yes, the best of people in the world, moslems are ! /sarc off
But, imo, moslem culture has as much 'honour', as two mongrel dogs, copulating in the public square.
Everyone can see what the two two mongrel dogs are doing, and those who observe them do not really care what the dogs are doing.
And the dogs themselves [being
beasts] are not at all shamed, ...because the dogs can't imagine, that they are doing anything at all shameful.
