You're an experienced Digger and you reckon our courts are always right?  Where you bin, Laden?  Our courts are houses of lies....

Here's the rub:-

"compensated for abuses while in state-sponsored care"

Ergo - ONLY those abused while in state-sponsored care were compensated - it does not stretch to some all-encompassing compensation for being removed from family etc .... those not abused?  Where did/do they stand?

Semantics 101 - how to tell a lie that sounds like another truth.

what it means that's its not a one way street & should be looked at as a whole & not specifically as if it only happened to one group - Aboriginals.

But Blacks own the Media now. It's all about Black people only now. You steal Australia from the Blacks, they steal the Media in return.

Not always, no.  More often than not, yes.  There is no other way to legally come to a decision about an issue, without legislation.  That is why we have legislation - to provide laws that the courts can decide on.  It is what the "rule of law" is all about.   The courts in South Australia and Victoria have decided about specific cases that recognise the "Stolen Generation" as an established fact. You're an experienced Digger and you reckon our courts are always right?

Not always, no.  More often than not, yes.  There is no other way to legally come to a decision about an issue, without legislation.  That is why we have legislation - to provide laws that the courts can decide on.  It is what the "rule of law" is all about.   The courts in South Australia and Victoria have decided about specific cases that recognise the "Stolen Generation" as an established fact. Ah - my point exactly - specific cases - and the blurb says she fought for those who suffered in care.... my question was:- "What about the rest?"

Brian, When you get back to speaking English again, I have a question.

I was watching something on the History Channel about the Celts and it crossed my mind to ask you whether you know what the Aboriginals used to do with their deceased people? Did they bury them or what?  Have we ever found any bones in caves or anything?

Just curious and I am seriously interested.

You know - that very thought passed my mind yesterday...

The ex's daughter's Aboriginal bf is growing on me - he offered to go around and have a chat with her ex-husband who is being a Wright Arsehole
(that's the Wright Brothers second plane, BTW)
- even patient li'l ol' me is getting irate with his antics .. she's gonna slap him again with court orders.... idiot... this is hurting the kids.

(heh-heh)  the quasi-daughter already gave the bastard a black eye - should've done a proper job on him... but she loves me since I held everything together for her when things were bleak.... now she's on the comeback.... and even listens to her mother!!

Thanks.  Seems you can't read about it online at that link. I was curious about what they did before white man arrived, they couldn't have just left them laying there, surely.

Thanks.  Seems you can't read about it online at that link. I was curious about what they did before white man arrived, they couldn't have just left them laying there, surely.

Google that title and author and you'll get a pdf link to ANU Press

Thank you. Interesting read!

Anytime, Neferti.  Australia is a vast continent and indigenous treatment of the dead varied over time and geography.  What is known is they were treated with reverence.   Something White Colonists denied them.

It does not seem far-fetched that abuse would have happened in state-sponsored care. But I guess Cubillo would have been not all that busy with dealing with the consequences of the abuse.
