It does not seem far-fetched that abuse would have happened in state-sponsored care. But I guess Cubillo would have been not all that busy with dealing with the consequences of the abuse.

Yep

I'm a member of a  French Pigeon Club forum... not many speak english, the one or two that do are so so .... & they often laugh when I've used a translator to hold a conversation

but they get the gist most of the time & appreciate the input.
