ABC 24 latest news

Victoria  45 cases 5 deaths.

And guess where this cluster is spiking (again).... the Casey area.... just like last time eh!
Here we go... the f-wit government know this so are they gonna allow it to get away from all us again?

That’s the area that should be locked down with the police ring of steel ...
Narre Warren, Hallam, Dandenong... as said by professorie... the “afghan” community.
The rest of us are clear.
Why should I, along with others in clear areas with no covid cases, still have to suffer for those 5 families in that specific Casey area which our premier and his cohorts know all about!

Time to do it right ... this time... but I won’t hold my breath.

A lot of new Australians live in Hallam.   Embarrassed

Okay... and does that mean our government should be letting them get away with it again ... and again???
Oh what’s that I heard.... Dan saying they won’t be fined for breaching rules... these 5 families... then infected 2 at Westfield’s shops that are now in hospital!

Wow.... how lovely and so lenient is out man Dan for tickling these people with a feather... after all a spike just happened... must please Dan much to keep us all in a chokehold?

I'm worried as I could drive to Hallam in about 20 minutes.
That's too close for comfort.

New Australians causing outbreak.

There are currently 101 active coronavirus cases in the Casey and Dandenong area of Melbourne, with 34 infections linked to five households in the Afghan community.

Cases in the southeast have now spread to Dandenong Police Station and a number of industrial work sites.
The success of Melbourne's ongoing lockdown could be at risk with a new cluster emerging in the southeast of the city,
testing the capacity of COVID-detectives.
There are currently 101 active coronavirus cases in the Casey and Dandenong area with
34 infections linked to five households in the Afghan community.

As residents in the city are still under strict Stage Four lockdown which restricts families travelling more
than 5km from their homes to visit other households,
it's thought the infected group may have breached the stay-at-home orders.

Victoria records 21 new coronavirus cases,

seven more deaths.

Anthony Piovesan, NCA NewsWire
September 19, 2020 9:27am

https://www.themercury.com.au/breaking-news/victoria-records-21-new-coronavirus-...

Victoria has recorded 21 new coronavirus cases and seven more deaths on Saturday, the Department of Health and Human Services confirmed.

The drop in infections is the state’s lowest daily figure since June 23 where 18 cases were recorded.

The average daily case number for metropolitan Melbourne has also dipped to 39.3, meaning the city is on track to a scheduled easing of restrictions.

Metropolitan Melbourne must reach an average daily case rate of between 30 and 50 cases over the preceding fortnight to trigger an easing of lockdown measures from September 28.

The daily average in regional Victoria is 1.9.

There are 64 cases of an unknown source in metropolitan Melbourne and none in regional Victoria.

It comes as anti-lockdown protesters are threatening to stage freedom rallies “like nothing you’ve ever seen before” in Melbourne’s CBD this weekend.

While blatant breaches of Melbourne’s 5km-radius rule were revealed as the cause behind a cluster of 34 coronavirus infections in Melbourne’s southeastern suburbs.

Members of five households in Hallem, Clyde, Narre Warren South and Cranbourne North had travelled outside the mandated 5km radius, leading to the outbreak in Casey.

We brought the Afghans here.
We knew that they couldn't speak English.
We knew their only skill was to stick their bums in the air
and pray to Allah.
What did we expect with our complicated lockdown laws?
Did we think they would obey laws they didn't understand?
It's our fault.

Victoria records 14 new COVID-19 cases
and five deaths

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-09-20/victoria-records-14-new-coronavirus-cases...

as Melbourne 14-day average drops
Posted 3 hours ago, updated 1 hour ago

Victoria has recorded 14 new coronavirus infections — the lowest single-day case increase in more than three months — and five further deaths.

The deaths of two men and two women in their 80s and one woman in her 90s were all linked to aged care settings.

It is the 10th consecutive day the state has recorded a daily infections number of below 50.

Metropolitan Melbourne's 14-day average for new cases is now 36.2.

Keeping the rolling 14-day average below 50 is key to Melbourne slightly easing restrictions on September 28, as part of step 2 of the state's roadmap.

Premier Daniel Andrews said the numbers were "low, but still not low enough" to ease restrictions without the virus spreading again.

"This is a good day, though," he said.

"A day where Victorians can be proud of the work that they've done, their commitment, their resolve to see this off."

The Premier and Minister for Creative Industries Martin Foley announced a $13 million package for the state's live music industry, which has been hit hard by the extended restrictions.

Nine of the new cases were linked to known outbreaks and the remaining five are still under investigation.

The infections were detected from 12,461 tests processed on Saturday.

The last time the state recorded fewer than 14 cases was more than three months ago, when nine infections were announced on June 16.

More than 18,000 Victorians have contracted COVID-19 since that date.

It's figures for the last 24 hours.

14 is the best number we've seen in ages.
We'll be lower than Sydney soon.

They were all Afghans, weren't they? If it wasn't for them, Vic would probably have no cases

We don't know the origins of those have have contracted the disease.
The Afghan source was a slip of the tongue
by the chief health officer for which he has apologised
owing to the necessities of political correctness.
