Look after ALL critters!
Jul 11th, 2020 at 11:44am

With the globe warming summers can get extremely hot.

Why not buy a birdbath and keep it topped up with water (can do even on a balcony, some  shallow plastic tub, a deeper tub with a brick in it) and put an empty icecream container full of water on the footpath? Empty, rinse and refill every day of the hot weather. Or leave a sprinkler going near the footpath (water restrictions permitting) with the water going no higher than, say, 15cm.)

Every summer some idiot leaves his dog or his kids locked in a car on a blazing hot day! As part of an attempt to measure CO2 in my car I noticed that during the day the car thermometer would be like 15°C cooler than the temperature inside the car as shown by the temperature reading on the CO2 meter display—so on a 40°C day it would be at least 55°C inside the car (could be hotter, these readings were taken in spring.) So do something for the dog(s) or kid(s) inside.

Arctic sea ice at record lows. just reinforces the bad news.

(Will try and remember to refloat this next summer.)

Yes.

Proverbs 12:10
A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

Proverbs 14:34
Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

This isn't a 'religious' exposition.

Just a reminder that it is a good thing, for all of us, to show kindness/mercy to all sentient creatures.

Exactly Yadda!
Why should humans think they have first right to inhabit this planet!
We share it.

I understand that. Like my thread on what “terriers like to do.”  Many times I wished I could use a shotgun or even a shangai on bloody birds eating my fruit!

But your story of a stuffed up duck hunt—boring!

You like to eat, Booby?

Or are you happy for vermin to destroy crops so you go hungry?

Didn’t think so.

That dog is in blackface.
It will be denounced any minute now.

We have a lot of ducks, I don’t see what the problem is.
They come in pairs, have their little babies, then eventually go.
What I have a problem with are cockatoos that strip our apple orchard!

It’s an old orchard and I tried everything to discourage them, and it’s illegal to shoot them!

Pain in the blurter!
