As for his replacement as Senate leader? Simon Birmingham? I reckon Simon Birmingham should move to the Lower House, he is a potential future PM.

As long as he doesn't come out with: "Ah'll be Bach!" I guess we could easily survive his departure - BTW - WTF is a Belgian born Kraut doing as a front-bencher here, let alone a Senator? Something wrong with the water in WA?

No wonder the Nazi regime installed a requirement that you needed to be German for several generations or you were out... Ireland did it - Fiji did it at gunpoint.... and everyone forgets when Mandela's crew took over and some 'white supremacist' was first shot and wounded by a Black soldier, and then executed out of hand while the cameras were turned away and after he pleaded for a doctor .... but that weren't 'racism'... course not...

Parliamentarians never quit without having a job already lined up. Some of them are even working in the private sector before they leave Parliament (Billson and Robb).
