https://morningtick.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Lenovo-Yoga-C940-laptop-launc...

It's their "Yoga C940" that comes all sorts of point pricing crap like Dolby Vision, 4K, some "bitch ass" graphics card, 16G of memory, 2TB SSD and a outdated i7 processor.

Reviews look okay and for the money can't find anything better. But I'm guessing it will fall apart by this time next year if COVID doesn't kill me first.

nah .. i use a tower at home. Just had a new one built for me. Far more reliable than any laptop. My old tower was 12 years old before it died.

My laptop is a 2 years old ACER and I'm ready to throw it away. Useless.

For home office use, nothing beats a good old tower. Fast, reliable, up-gradable and cheaply repairable = less e-waste.

I have two towers in my home office.

I used to do a lot of design and video editing (and still do some) so a desktop is unbeatable. It never goes online so it's still as clean and fast as the day it was built. When I upgrade the editing PC it gets demoted to general use

Also, I've used the same guy to build my computers for about 15 years and last time one had a fault, a blown power supply, he didn't even charge labour, just swapped it out and it cost less than $100 bucks and ready in an hour.

Everything I do with my tablet hits the cloud as soon as I get home and is there waiting for my on my PC.

I do most of my music listening thru the PC with a high end sound card.

Good luck doing that on a notebook.

I'm shutting down a lot of my online activity and connects.
I'm keeping things tight with minimal interaction.

In addition to my MacBook, I own two Mac Minis and have never been disappointed. I don't have an iPhone however - they just aren't worth the money to me.

I got one years ago for $500 from some computer dealer that I would not purchase from again. So far, the computer laptop has been good for watching international regional versions of dvds. Otherwise, I wish I had not bought a laptop in the first place.

However, Lenovo is part of the brands that originate from China. Perhaps try to boycott that product, for now.

And you're okay with China boycotting Australian products?

My boycott is motivated by the Chinese boycott of Australian products.
