Trump's Corona Rally: Don't Sue Me!

What could he be worried about?

Trump rally attendees must agree not to sue campaign over potential coronavirus exposure

A disclaimer for the June 19 event makes no mention of required social distancing or safety precautions, such as face coverings.

Herd immunity is developing - the numbers of new cases are falling as well as the lethality.

There was no restrictions for the riots and protests though - oh there was an exemption made - well why not for Trumps rallies?

Besides if the Democrats win where all doomed anyway!

I'm going to a Trump rally when hes in this area.

Are you going to Joe's rallies Ai - should be fun!

Herd immunity requires 90-90% of the population to be immune right?

With the current death rate of known infections vs deaths, if 95% of the US has herd immunity from spreading the virus alone (not a future vaccine), that's 17 million people dead.  17 million people dead because of Trump if you're linking his rallies to herd immunity.

Anything less will not achieve herd immunity and the deaths that accompany the infections will be for nothing and besides, the entire point of herd immunity is to avoid infections by using vaccinations to make the population immune.

Infecting the population to reach a point of immunity...  It's a serious "wtf are you talking about" moment.

But alas, it's just a basic tard's Trump defense...

Now I'll admit that's on the high end of estimations because that is assuming the death rate is 5.5% calculated from known cases vs deaths but given the issues with testing (thanks to Trump) and the asymptomatic nature of the virus the actual number of cases would be much higher which would in turn lower the death rate, but you're still looking at millions dead in the version where Trump is deliberately infecting people at his rallies to achieve herd immunity which is what you're saying to justify his selfish actions.

In your world, a vote for Trump is a vote for millions of dead Americans.

4 Americans died in the Benghazi attack that you still to this day want to see Hillary in Gitmo for.  But you're ok with Trump's death count being millions?

ooof...

Many people on here doubt the number of Jews that died in the Holocaust but if you ignore those bigots and take the accepted value, around 6 million, Trump's death count would be 2-3 times higher than that, if your defense of him Rich is reality, more if you take the bigots version of the Holocaust into account.

That's a really great defense, you've really topped yourself with this one.  Bravo.

I will admit to not being impressed with Trump over his covid response  but this is a bit of a stretch spot....

he is mostly up against State Governors  who do not wish to co operate with him anyway......and as we saw the rioters dont give a stuff about covids.....be realistic for once.......New york is still the worst affected State. but the deaths are dropping..so thats a good thing...

What uber dumbass artard Bitchrude fails to recognize is even if recovery from infection guarantees immunity (which no one knows it the case) the hypothetical immunity for five percent of the Spanish population cost 27,459 lives. That is to say the 50 percent infection rate necessary to see a decrease in cases would require the sacrifice of a quarter million human beings.

In ol' F A T T Y's racist America, with its 330 million people, a hypothetical “herd immunity” would require the sacrifice of nearly two million people.

But hey, since most are going to ol' F A T T Y R A L L I E S America is well on its sacrificial way to herd immunity.

The point from Rich was, it's ok if Trump holds the rallies because it will help achieve herd immunity.

If that is the defence then we need to analyse what herd immunity means without a vaccine.

If you go by the numbers today, that's 17 million dead on the high end, realistically closer to 5 or 6 million. Edit: In the US alone.

Is it a bit of a stretch? The notion that herd immunity is the solution to the virus without a vaccine? Yes.

That means the virus won, it infected 90-95% of the population and killed all it was going to.  That also means 300+ million more chances for a mutation and a new strain and for this to start all over again.

Trying to say it's ok for Trump to hold his rallies with no social distancing because it will help lead to herd immunity is absurd.

The numbers don't lie.

And the cherry on top being the virus is becoming less lethal and the death rate dropping, the virus didn't change its mind, it's the social distancing, lockdowns and a medical system able to cope that is doing this.

A surge in infection due to the protests, marches or Trump rallies will undo all of that.

#fightstupid

It's as if America found the "what to do in a pandemic" playbook, looked it at and thought "Don't tell me what to do, freeeeeeedom! Murica!" threw it out and is doing the opposite.

But the Nasdaq is good so everyone is doing well, MAGA!

Edit#2: Actually, Trump did literally throw away and even in many cases do the opposite of what was in the "playbook" he inherited from Obama about pandemic preparedness.

The disastrous toll of the COVID-19 pandemic in Ol' F A T T Y's racist America which has five times more cases than any other country, is directly related to the fact that ol' F A T T Y himself  failed to conduct any widespread testing of its population for months. Regardless of whether these dumbass MAGA tards publicly embrace “herd immunity” or not, the reality is that no state in America has a valid plan to prevent the widespread infection of its population with COVID-19.

There will be without question a major resurgence of the disease, whether in the near term, during the next flu season or both.

It pains me, literally at times which is why I took a week off from the forum not so long ago, that the medical and scientific response to COVID-19, especially in the US, has been so politicised.

Politicised to the point of picking and choosing what facts are real just to suit the observer's opinions.

It's no wonder the Climate Change issue has been made worse if anything, rather than addressed.

If the US, for example, can't come together to solve a problem killing people in front of their eyes, I don't know what chance there is to stop a slowly creeping monster like Climate Change.
